i used to get really bad nosebleeds too, about 2 a day. then i got it quaterised (sp) when i was 7, then again when i was 12. i still get them like twise a week which is okay, alot of people freak out but i so used to it its like second nature.
i also have hayfever, and i get panic attacks quite alot, but again both these things are manageable.

It means I feel dizzy and weak most of the time, get about three hours sleep a night, have incredible pains that appear and dissappear at random (my left wrist is quite bad at the moment). I got it eleven years ago, and had to give up working as a sports coach because for the first six months or so it was so bad that I couldn't even stand up half the time. I work part time at something else now - they are very understanding of it.

It also means that my body is generally very low on energy, which opens the door to other things, or means that it takes longer to clear them up. It's alao why I occaisionally disappear from the forum for a couple of days. And it's why my posts are sometimes mis-spelt - it's just hitting the wrong keys due to shakiness. I do try to edit them afterwards though!

Sometimes in the morning I still can't stand up - it's quite literally impossible - and sometimes I get half way through a meal and lose the energy to lift the food to my mouth or eat it - again,it's impossible. It's surprising how much energy it takes to eat a meal. When I go out, sometimes I have to avoid places with steps, because I know that they'll be out of the question that day. You get the picture, anyway.

It affects me in other ways too, and means I have to plan everything around it a bit. But everything else in life is great, so that's okay.

I'm sorry to read about this Hip Priest

Hip Priest is one of those people who's so fundamentally good-hearted and cool that he makes you feel bad for being such an ass.

Screw you.

I have acid reflux pretty bad. When it first came on it felt like a constant lump in my throat, or like my collar was too tight all the time and terrible pain in my chest. At first I was told it was just anxiety, so i got a prescription for xanax (awesome!). But after they realized that I was actually sick, i got some real medicine. It pretty much keeps it under control now. But I have to be careful about drinking, eating spicy things, or anything with tomatoes.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

God it's so annoying. My hands are cold 24/7 and it slows them down and they get numb so easily, so whenever I play guitar, I have to warm my hands up temperaturewise.

I just noticed, th SY board is filled with freaks. No offense you guys.

Savage Clone 05.05.2006 09:27 AM

Hip Priest:
I had a boss with your condition once. It's definitely no laughing matter, and it's also very misunderstood. People really need to do some research about this condition. Sorry you have to deal with this.

what did you expect?

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 05.05.2006 10:22 AM

I had a lump on my testicle once and thought I had cancer. Staff infection. I think I got it from a pet cat clawing me while on my lap.

My eyelids are perpetually red.

ploesj 05.05.2006 10:29 AM

i have like three allergies and get asthamtic attacks whenever i practise sports in bad conditions such as damp air or dry air.. that means like all the time. i also have a low blood-pressure which makes me faint when i get up too fast. when i do faint it looks like i have epilepsy. it used to scare my parents and ive been in hospital for a whole day to check my brain.
