Crazy, but I added Tears For Fears for "Head Over Heels" forgetting all about the Tears For Fears original "Shout." And, of course, "Shout!" is the title of the famous R&B (different) tune by The Isley Bros. which has been covered countless times.

MellySingsDoom 09.03.2007 03:46 PM

Also - "Shout" by Lulu.

How about: Lesley Gore - "Cry" / Godley and Creme "Cry" / The Birthday Party "Cry"?

atari 2600 09.03.2007 03:49 PM

Yeah, I knew there had to be more "Shout"s.

I suppose the exclamation point in the Isley version makes the title that much less identical technically.

...And continuing to play loose with the definition of the topic terms, there's
Superman - The Clique (R.E.M. covered it) and O Superman - Laurie Anderson, but that's stretching things even more, and now I feel compelled to mention that horrible Crash Test Dummies crud.

Okay, here's a legit one again...eww and there's multiples.

Poison - Alice Cooper/Bell Biv DeVoe (thanks to google; I thought it was them but couldn't have been sure)/Prodigy/Laurie Anderson/Bardot (thanks again, google; don't know or care who that is)

k-krack 09.03.2007 11:02 PM

Probably because they're both terrible. No worries!
Speaking of Scorpions hahaha...
A band from here, Ultra Violence Ray, was playing a show in... I think Ottawa... and the singer from Scorpions got on stage while UV Ray were playing, and made a complete ass of himself (drunk), acted like a douchebag and shit, and later on in the night, he was hitting on some
young girl and was asked to leave. hahaha

Here's the story from UV Ray's guitarist...

Yeah, it kinda is, but I put them down anyway cause there are just sooooo many bands that use those as titles.

deathbombarc 09.03.2007 11:39 PM

Creepy Crawly Claw did an amazing simulateous cover of "Isolation" by John Lennon, "Isolation" by Joy Division, and "Isolation" by Chrome.

fyi, CCC was this amazing short lived band featuring John Benson of A Minor Forest on bassar, Rob Enbom of Hospitals/Gang Wizard on organ/vox, Mark ? of Burmese on drums, and a 4th person on Trombone.

im pretty sure that Isolation(s) cover is impossible to find the record of now, but their 7" is still around and just as amazing.
