yes

best band ever.
|
yes!
|
they are pretty good
|
They are brilliant.
The complexity of the Magic Band, the absurd humor of Sun City Girls and Caroliner, and the melodic know-how that's beyond any other band I can even think of. Mixing folk, jazz, noise, pop, rock, and genres that haven't even been invented yet. "Hornet's Heart", "Undertaker", and "Nipper" are 3 of the best songs ever written by any band, ever. |
i like tell me and lizards dream the best
and hornets heart |
me and my home slice where on acid at the beach (a horrible bleak day actually) recently and he had his ipod stereo there, so we would switch back and forth playing music for each other and he turned me onto os mutantes that day; and i showed him this album and the one with my pal the tortoise on it. long story short; he totally fell in love and preceded to buy everything by them the following day. i also showed him the monks which was crazy because the next day the documentary black monk time was playing at a local theater and who happened to show up to field some questions and talk? why eddie shaw; the original bassist. IT WAS A GREAT TIME!
|
Yeah, everyone ends up falling in love with them hard, I've noticed. Most consistent band ever.

yes and i must thank you for bringing this particular album to my attention i had like 3 of their later albums but this is truly their masterpiece. do you know if they feel the same way? |
|
I'm sure he has. I'd love to see them live.
|
Yeah, I saw that clip. It's amazing! Thanks anyway.
Sorry it took me so long to reply, I've been bed-ridden! |
I've nearly heard everything this band have did and I really need to put them in my top 3 bands. I really fucking love Wormed By Leonard and the Admonishing the Bishops EP. All the other albums are amazing also. I like Mother of All Saints a lot more than before!
|
Yeah they're great. Best "Rock" band ever, definitely.
BOB DINNERS AND LARRY NOODLES PRESENTS TUBBY TURNDER'S CELEBRITY AVALANCHE.. or whatever.. is seriously underrated. How about "Nipper", man? the song about walking the dog? Shiiiiiiiiit. "I should have went down to the store, but I waited too long." |
I was about to note that Nipper was my favourite on the album. I love the way the music dictates the story also.
|
It's one of the few songs that's ever made me laugh out loud (the line about "Sheeba struttin' her stuff" or whatever and the music changes to the sort of music that plays whenever Audrey is on screen in Twin Peaks). But it rocks too!
|
Yeah Derek, so that i300e computer on the other soulseek.. the external hard drive crashed for it the same day I told you to get stuff off of there. But luckily Robe Flesh on the new slsk keeps getting on and he has a lot of my files on there. If you need something rare that I'm not sharing. Haha.

Agreed - I used to really hate it too. get past the surface and it's a really great album, but i needed something like lovelyville or mother get them before a could enjoy the falsetto stuff and whatnot. |
REVIVAL!
sorry...i just got into this band because of this board. my favorite moment of theirs so far is the end of Triple X...that jam is the bees knees |
"Triple X" is probably my favorite song. it's awesome. banjo rules.
