The shell chairs are Miller ones.
The price: zero dollars.
Tattoo chair also zero dollars.
Record browsers, zero dollars.

Design Within Reach indeed!

I'm a very proud owner of 2 Gispen and 3 black skai Arne Jacobsen chairs.

Wright = God

m1rr0r dash 01.27.2008 12:51 AM

yes, but Hilla Rebay to his right was the spirit behind that design... to the extent that she pushed wright to design a museum she thought worthy of kandinsky. which wright probably would never have done on his own.

...whether or not you like any of these pieces above, none of them would have been possible without Hilla's conception of a fluid continous space to show exhibit art...

she had been the curator of the precursor to the Guggenheim, called The Museum of Non-Objective Painting, which was where many of the Guggenheim's paintings had been before FLLW designed the new building.

Tokolosh 01.27.2008 01:38 AM

m1rr0r dash 01.27.2008 01:48 AM

...down the hall

...past the past bedroom...

...which takes us out on the cantilevered patio...

...where you can look down on the falls, which this year were less than spectacular on account of the environment sucking...

Tokolosh 01.27.2008 01:51 AM

I'm in charge of the "Interior Design" section of our bookstore. Lately, I've seen some very inspirational photos. Especialy those regarding the "Living Room" section. I should do some research on monday.

My dream home would be in a loft...

m1rr0r dash 01.27.2008 02:19 AM

...out again to another patio.

...across to the guest bedrooms.

...and out to the roof terrace.

m1rr0r dash 01.27.2008 02:56 AM

...back down stairs

and out the back door...

takes you up the hill

to a detached guest house looking down on the main house from above.

...but i don't feel like doing that right now, so ...
