Most of the rest I don't bother with 'cause it's all basically the same thing, with a lot of the same people that you know from other places.

Its always seemed like the waystation to me, Vauxhall. Didnt realise people actually left the station unless they worked for MI5.
Bum-worshippers mecca - thats probably why i know so little.

There are far too few decent party DJs around, let alone awesome ones. Most of them seem to have gone to a party about fifteen years ago that they thought was great and have strived ever since to recreate that party. My age being what it is, I've been to quite a few 40th birthday parties in the last few years, and I'm convinced that the DJs have all just asked the party-givers what records were played at the 18th birthdays and have just played all the same records again. If one more person ever says "Oh, come on, you've got to dance, it's the Timewarp" to me again, I swear there's going to be a massacre.

If I'd had a party for my 40th I was going to place an advert on here asking for a DJ, but in the end I acted my age and went out for a meal instead.

For as long as it's not just people playing the same 80's stuff over and over again. I'm so sick of it.

I don't drink that much if I'm dancing. Besides, even I was that high or drunk while throwing shapes, when you hear the same thing over and over it is boring no matter what.

A Thousand Threads 02.07.2008 04:50 AM

I had some of the best times at 80's disco parties, really.
Normally, i hate that stuff but when drunk......

uhh
ohh

shake ya booty

A guy took all his clothes off on the dancefloor last night. He wasn't a pretty sight but he still managed to swing his naughty bits to the beat.

judging by that mix tape, you should be, young man!

once again, death disco and misshapes rule.

sarramkrop 03.22.2008 06:36 AM

But those are so 90's. Like Popstarz.

This Is Not Here 03.22.2008 07:15 AM

In my experience, as long as your dancing, having fun and perhaps under the influence of a certain substance, it doesn't matter a blind bit what sort of music is being played. I go to a club in London called Slimelight, it plays hard industrial, EBM and noise, so for a Sonic Youth and alt hip hop fan this really isn't the music I enjoy. But to be honest, if your going to a club to hear 'good music' you'll be soarly dissapointed, all you need is a beat and some glow-sticks, any decent 'choons' played are just a bonus.

DD and misshapes?
misshapes is completely NOT 90s. it's like the opposite of 90s, have you ever been?

The one I know was at Popstarz when I used to go there and it as all britpop and regular indie tunes. Maybe the NYC version has been updated. I liked Club Motherfucker but I don't know where it's on now.

I made a bet with myself that there would be a baby seal image in this thread within 20 posts, but I should have realized 2 was more likely.

I was sincere about wondering if there were any Alaskans.

Thanks. I thought that it was going to re-appear when The Garage opened again. Today we are going to Vauxhaull to another semi-alternative whatever early afternoon/late night thing. Bank Holidays rule, man, they do.
