i actually agree with this, as much as i liked no country, i felt it wasn't their best work and something was missing, still a work of genius. o brother... is pretty awesome but more like a normal movie that's really really great, whether every second of the big lebowski is essential.

The big surprise of the night was when Marion Cotillard won for Best Actress. Other than that, I picked nearly every category. Oscars 2008: The nominees
Cotillard seemed genuinely shocked. She and Forrest Whitaker (having won last year) leaving the stage together provided a memorable moment.

And during the Best Supporting actor category, for a second there I figured it was going to go to Hal Holbrook, but then Javier Bardem won it like I thought he should/would.
