I think the full spectrum of idiocy is not best represented by attempted cleverness.

Not really. Even more so when those attempts at what I'd call intelligent remarks are made by someone who elevated themselves to a superior kind intelligence. Take it from someone who can be really cruel when it comes to shut someone up.

Not me. I slept 3 hours last night.

My internal clock gets easily fucked over by stress (finals time). 3:30 am here and still up. I have class at 8:30. This is what happens when I nap through the day, too. Coffee time, tomorrow (today)!

One frequent annoyance in my life is people who will begin and engage in an argument and then refuse to listen to any counter-arguments, or call their protagonist (in this, and most cases, myself) 'pretentious' rather than listen to what I'm saying. Ad hominem, it's known as.

The other side to that is smart-arse know-nothings who insist on repeating, verbatim, some criticism of a minutae of protocol or grammar I may have made, refusing to concede the thrust of a hurried argument as superior.

Ultimately though, it's me that's the prick for engaging in such things, so to answer the question of the thread - yes, my continuous expression of cleverness is futile.

You're more obscene than the secret museum.

I tend to not put people on any level of intelligence, its nice to accept people as having branches of correctness and idiocy. That may be one of the reasons i myself dont take offense from cruel words, malicious clinical arguement is more sinister.
