unfortunately Morrissey's career has been built upon a much larger fanbase, world wide, where as, Oasis, are much less liked twits then Morrissey, though if you as me, they are in the same ball park, a terrible one. |
Is it bad if I laughed?
The boys in oasis are so pretentious, I'm glad someone mocked them. At least I think that's what was going on. |

Is that true? If you're being serious then that tallies exactly with what I've heard. I find it quite fascinating that they're so huge in Central America. |
Why?

it's no so surprising, mexico has always being anglophile.
in the 70's, prog was huge here and most punk was actually uk derived in the 80's (tons of crusties with mohawks and leather pants, not that many shaved heads and chains). i think the spice girls and robbie williams broke here before the u.s. and yeah, they are playing here, it's not the biggest place in the city and it hasn't sold out (unlike madonna, who sold out both her dates in the biggest or second biggest venue in town in like less than an hour) but people are saying things like "it's going to be the best concert ever". whether i'm thinking "if i go, i'll be listening to some good tunes, not some legendary band". morrissey is bigger here now since you are the quarry, definitely. played the same place oasis are playing; about eight years ago, he came to a much smaller place and didn't sell out. |

I don't know really. i'm not fascinated in a positive or negative way, just fascinated as in, ew, I wouldn't have imagined that. I certainly wasn't aware that Mexico had a strong anglophile element within its culture. |
Fair play to Jay-Z. N Gallagher should be forced to "star" in a fisting movie. Liam Gallagher got punched out by a German - ha! Morrisey big with the Latinos? why not!
I would comment a lot more, but me very tired now. Goodnight all! |

I watched a documentary about Morrissey recently, and it went into this whole subculture of Latino gang types that absolutely idolise him. I'm not sure if it was in Mexico. It might even have been Latinos in the US. Either way, it was really very interesting. |
most morrissey fans here are your token hipsters, grunge ex-patriates, indie kids, emo goths and vampirical goths. not many of the bruttish kind, like in the uk.
|
I wouldn't say Morrissey fans in Britain are brutish. Quite the opposite really. The tend to be box-bedroom rebels with a liking for feminist literature. Hey, I just described myself perfectly! Well wadda ya know!
|
but you see tons of big, at least slightly macho guys weeping to moz' tunes on his concert videos over there.
|
CGI, I assure you.
|
coming this summer, from the studio that brought you toy story and finding nemo: crying hooligans, a journey to stage climbing at a morrissey concert.
|
![]() Some of those Latino Moz fans I was talking about. An article about his Latino fan base. Apparantly it's in LA. |

Morrissey makes countless mexican grandmas in my town so "Jesus Mejo!" and cry tears of shame and embarassment... |
I find this whole thing seriously fascinating. I dunno what it is. And Latino women give me the serious horn too. Probably from reading all those Love and Rockets comics.

I had a girlfriend who had a crush on Morrissey, and I liked that about her. Is that weird?
|
that video was hilarious. oasis sucks dead donkey dick and i really dont' think jay-z is as good as everybody makes him out to be.
|
I am starting to Like the Smiths a lot.
