Liar Liar had some funny bits, but not a great movie either

seriously, i like him a lot, he makes me laugh, he doesn't annoy me. besides bill murray, tom green, ed o neil, and a few others, that doesdn't happen very often.

that says more about you and your comedic tastes than Jim Carrey's supposed comedic powers!

I like jim carrey, I just think that hollywod burns out comedians and sets them into typecast roles, things which just drain the funny away from them.

eddie murphy is one, jack black is another. when you sanitize comedians to appeal to the lowest common denominator (12 year olds and adults with 12 year old minds) you sacrifice the "edge" which is what makes good comedy truly delicious.

i find myself agreeing with adam in this thread... not sure if i would call him 'genius', but he certainly has his moments, and i think jim is a smart man... also, nobody has mentioned me, myself, and irene yet, which is a pretty funny movie

I hate Jack Black and Will Farrel, but Ben Stiller I can stand. Despite being the same character in every movie.

Although, Be Kind Rewind was pretty good on Black's part.

I like Jack Black in the original TenaciousD stuff, on HBO. (I HATE the album they put out) he was very very good in school of rock and high fidelity, essentially playing his same charatcer
