Best show I've ever been to....
Thurston also mentioned a noise gig? Where is that? |
What a great show that was! It was classic SY all the way.
I think they sound better as a 4pc. That shit was tight! |
*drools*

first post here although I've been visiting for years...I think this was my 8th show or something like that...
I was compelled to register to post songs you missed: brother james the sprawl shaking hell(!) |
Candle
Brother James Catholic Block Stereo Sanctity Hey Joni Sprawl> Cross The Breeze The Wonder> Hyperstation White Cross Mote Shaking Hell Encore: Shadow of a Doubt Silver Rocket Express way to your Skull http://twitpic.com/2aiwlk |
Amazing show, although it went by quickly. The songs sort of flowed into one another--there was very little chat with the crowd. Kim forgot about Expressway!

great great show. loved the old school setlist. highlights for me were hearing "mote" and "expressway..." for the first time. my brain melted during the latter. also cool seeing jenn again. her dedication is beyond admirable. i now have fifty more SY shows before i reach 55. |
that's a killer set list!

Or she had to "take care of business." heh heh. I took a few pics, a few vids. Will post when I wake up. Aaron, Annie, Kurt, George...a pleasure as always. Derek, Amy, Greg...missed y'all! My first time seeing SY as a full-set 4 piece since '98...fantastic. They were digging every minute of it, and so was I. Even when Thurston fucked up on "Candle" and Lee decided to take his time coming in on "Shaking Hell." It was like getting served a meal where the appetizer, main course, and dessert were actually all dessert. "Brother James" and "Cross the Breeze" shared top prize. |
"I took a few pics, a few vids. Will post when I wake up." - Awesome, can't wait to see these!! I'm still glowing from that show.
The Wonder>Hyperstation still blows me away everytime I see it. Mote was extra special for me since I was up close Lee Side. Raged! |
Awesome glad they kicked ass for you all. I'll see them again sometime as they always seem to play somewhere in Massachusetts their adopted home. Shaking Hell and Cross the Breeze are definitely a couple of my favorites live along with Inhuman. Glad to hear they threw in Mote one of my all time favs. I didn't get my kid's car out of the shop until 4:00 and 800 bucks later.

This was one of the tightest shows I've seen them do. Kim was really on fire with the bass and I prefer them as a four-piece if they can keep up that kind of intensity.
|
I am really burning my ass that I am not going to Montreal today.
|
That was truly an amazing show I think one of the reasons may have been that they weren't as loud as usual and you could hear the inter play more clearly. Great job by the sound guy. It was an all around great place for a show. I met a lot of great people throughout the evening. There was a police presence but they seemed to be relaxed and just there in case they were needed. Hope everyone else has as good a time as i did. Thanks to one and all. Next stop ATP

The sound was great imo also. You could define each guitar and the bass distinctively. And, Steve......well he is the man! One minute he's a rock solid metronome, next minute he's thrashing out like no tomorrow.
The energy was great in there too. I was right behind the last row of seats, Lee Side, and people were really into it around me. One of my favorite shows since i've been seeing them in '98. Hope to find a recording. |
haha, I was like wtf this was on tv??! looking at that vid for the first few seconds...
a little better picture of the set list here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/95359145@N00/4849592517/ Talk Normal was playing with Richard Hoffman (Sightings). yeah shoulda went to Montreal.... |
