About lenght of the songs in compilations I think Pink Floyd -collection Echoes would be nothing without that title song.

I have to say that although Pink Floyd Echoes is ok compilation it is not the Best Of compilation as there is on it´s title. It´s very hard to me understand, why there isn´t any songs from the Atom Heart Mother, because I think it is their best album. And also Ummagumma and More and Obscured -soundtracks are great. I have heard that Gilmour doesn´t like Atom heart at all, so maybe it´s the reason.

Exactly. What I particularly like in a compilation is something quite long at the end - in terms of the reason for this thread, something like UUUUU or Slavo's stuff could go quite nicely tucked in at the back.

^^I agree. most of my favourite records feature extended "outro-tracks" I think.
they somehow work as a huuuuge cadence (more on alums then compilations of course) for me!
