You've lost me there. What's the connection between oi and scooters?

Oi! Oi! Oi! by Cockney Rejects is badass.

mangajunky 08.04.2008 10:35 AM

I've always been partial to Someone's Gonna Die by Blitz

Everyneurotic 08.04.2008 11:39 AM

cockney rejects, no contest between them and the others listed.

I constantly confuse them with Cockney Rebel. I think I'm in for some two chord Oi! then 'Come Up and See Me' comes on and I'm well disappointed.

Everyneurotic 08.04.2008 11:51 AM

hahahahaha, that happens to me with another two bands, ahh yeah, it happens to me with against me and rise against but they are pretty much interchangeable, i wouldn't be able to tell them apart if my life depended on it.

How bizarre - about 20 minutes ago I was opening a couple of LPs that came in today's post, and the seller of one package had used the first PIL album and a copy of Cockney Reject's Greatest Hits to protect the album I had actually bought (an original copy of the 1st New York Dolls LP).
Even more strange since I had been half-looking out for another copy of the 1st PIL album anyway cos my existing one has a really tatty cover...

Everyneurotic 08.04.2008 01:11 PM

that's called "bonus, dude!"

radarmaker 08.04.2008 01:22 PM

Certainly ain't complaining :)

I'm an Upstart - Angelic Upstarts :D

Which reminds me, I want to change my signature to my favorite line of that song.

ha! I used to hang out with their singer Alex in Portsmouth in the mid 80's when he was in high school...he was a good guy.

But I don't buy the rewriting of OI! as "street punk". Anyway, other than the first Blitz 7" - which I still love - I didn't like much Oi. Blitz SUCKED after that record, too.
