Punk is playing music in a different way that is mainstream. That is my point of view. I think punk has a double meaning now. Anything and anyone can claim to be punk and if they have followers it will be.

The Ramones started PUNK, the ramones ARE punk. without the vRamones the Clash, the sex pistols, teh buzzcocks and every other early punk band would not have begun. they all give high praise to th ramones who rocked old school style. theye were NOTHING likethe stooges and if you really believe that i suggest you clear your ears out man. the stooges were sludgy garage rock. the ramones wanted to play old style rock n roll, like chuck berry DAMNIT. they just sped it up for energy.

I say al, this NOT being a huge ramones fan. I dig their tunes but I am not a rabid ramones follower. but what I say is true.
