No more post-rock!!! Hooray!!!

Let's all go out and kill a delay pedal, it's the only way.

Gulasch Noir 09.10.2006 12:27 PM

but i like post-rock

Everyneurotic 09.10.2006 12:28 PM

hahahahaha, very few post rock actually uses delay and it's not overexplotative.

Glice 09.10.2006 12:29 PM

No, of course you don't. You've just been fooled into it. It's ok, we all make mistakes.

Well, the last time they did the Pearl Jam humpback in '00 they actually played together some, (well Vedder did) on the w/o Thurston & Kim in Pennsylvania http://www.sonicyouth.com/mustang/cc/090500.html
& then there was at least one other one too.

it could get worse. it would be way worse if they did this and played rather ripped in its entirety.

atari 2600 09.10.2006 01:41 PM

Bono has been going bald for years. Maybe he's got some hair replacement therapy or a wig going on now, I don't know. A few years ago Bono would get miffed if cameramen happened to catch the back of his balding head.

Mike Mills of R.E.M. has a weave jobber, that I do know.

k-krack 09.10.2006 01:41 PM

thats rich!
hahahahaha.

too add onto the u2 comments, theres a collective talent there of about "very little". "the edge" (i have said it before, i'll say it again) just rips off johnny marr with everything he does... and that isn't good. bono... is bono. thats bad enough as it is. the other retards are about as basic as it gets.

now greenday... i'll be honest. some of the old albums are quite good for pop punk. ie Dookie, Warning. the they put on suits (hahahaha) makeup (hahahaha!) and really forced political views. ie "fuck bush! war sucks!" and they just became laaaame. they once said things like "We don't even read" and "I hate celebrities. I really hate them." and now they act like they know the story, have a clue as to wat really goes on in the political world, and AREN'T celebrites.

wikithread 09.10.2006 01:55 PM

Crazy.

jon boy 09.10.2006 01:57 PM

so, just as a reference point what is everyones favourite U2 song?

atari 2600 09.10.2006 01:58 PM

Seconds
from War

or

Elvis Presley and America
from The Unforgettable Fire

Everyneurotic 09.10.2006 02:32 PM

the silence between the tracks.

actually, i didn't mind some of the songs from pop, mainly because that's the only one they dared to be different; bono's vocals ruin everything basically.

porkmarras 09.10.2006 02:39 PM

Vertigo.haha

Everyneurotic 09.10.2006 02:40 PM

"u2 ripped off sonic youth!!!!!!"

porkmarras 09.10.2006 02:43 PM

Outrageous!!!

Everyneurotic 09.10.2006 02:46 PM

never heard of that before. say, do you know sonic youth was on gilmore girls?

atari 2600 09.10.2006 02:49 PM

 Do these Gilmore Girls know the Bush twins? I think they must be in England tho if they are Pink Floyd's kids.
I heard they sound like they do because they have their guitars tuned all weird & shit which was something they got from U2.

Hip Priest 09.10.2006 04:24 PM

So U2 and Green Day are recording together, making one record between them instead of two records seperately. That has to be good.

I quite like the Unforgettable Fire and Joshua Tree LP's and, much as I'm never likely to be a U2 fan, I thought Rattle and Hum was under-rated at the time. Fave song: A Sort of Homecoming.
