Hate Me-Blue October, yet another whiny song that the radio djs admire for some unspeakable reason.

So far I can't find any radio stations that play the really good suff.

LittlePuppetBoy 10.22.2006 09:10 AM

God, mainstream djs are completely out of touch with music. I remember when FallOutBoy became popular they were like "You may be wondering "who is this Fall Out Boy?" Well they just well may be the best thing in music" or something to that effect.

Thankfully that horrid Razorlight tune doesn't get played so much any more, but there is a new (not-so-new, actually) tune that makes me want to kill small animals. My girlfriend likes to be woken up by the radio, and at least once a week the tune that is on at quarter past six, when the radio swaitches itself on, will be Nelly's "Its Getting Hot in Here". Two questions: 1) Why is the DJ playing a three or four year old track so often, and 2) Why is anyone playing this fucking shite at all????

Excuse me now, just thinking about that song has prompted me to go and get my rifle. I'm gonna go shoot me a guinea pig.

dj's play a lot of songs that are old sonicl, some from the 60's even.

the most annoying song for me right now is that 'dont give up, you got a reason to live' song. i cant remember who graced us with that but they deserve a punch in the arm.

afterthefact 01.02.2007 11:07 AM

Whatever the new Nelly Furtado song is. Maneater or something. It seriously blows my mind that people pay other people to do this stuff. There is no creativity whatsoever.

Everytime I switch on a radio, some piece of shit gets out of it. I hate radio. French radios are worse than americans.

I've no problem with the track being old. I like some old music. The problem this particular track is that it's not only old, but it's also played a lot, and it's SHIT (you wouldn't believe how hard I was hitting the keys for that last word). There's no excuse for that.

Oh, you have to just love the new formula for rock:
deep scratchy voice + basic 3 chord progession + held distorted chords for chorus + part where they do the song the same but with acoustic guitar, then repeat with distortion again = instant radio classic!

The Lung 01.02.2007 12:40 PM

I have tried and tried and tried not to listen to that America song but it seems everywhere I go it follows and tortures me. I went into Leeds a few days ago and it was played in 5 shops so I had to exit as fast as possible. People always play it in their cars on full volume as well which annoys the fuck out of me. Last week I had got home late from friends and turned on the tv in bed and they were playing it fucking live.

One day they will push me over the edge, is it their only fucking song or something?

Another band who are just as bad are The Futureheads, they have the worst lyrics in the world, it's pretty funny how people actually take them seriously. They all look like cunts and all their songs are the same

Check this song out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sDXv5FcInQ

I'm sure you'll all love it

I never understood the hype of this band. I thought there was an extra "something" to them that got caused them to get so popular. Then I went to a party one time and they played their entire first album. It was a crime. What happened to a party MIX? This stuff was off the wall horrid. There was nothing that I was missing to them.

One thing I've been wondering, how come they never play Velvet Underground on the radio? Or the Stooges? They rock harder than that wimpy crap they call hard rock.

Why do people insist on playing this ridiculous piece of S H I T E ?????

As accepting as I am of Pop music - particularly Dance (but i ain't promiscuous, and if you is suspicious, all that shit is fictitious, i blow kisses -- Fergie, "Fergilicious"), Rap (candy on the six-fo', leather guts and fishbowl, fifty on the pinky ring just to make my fist glow -- T.I., "What You Know"), R&B (baby i'll love you all the way down, get you right where you like it, i promise you'll like it, i swear -- Cassie, "Me & You") - for some reason there wasn't a single Pop Rock song from 2006 that I enjoyed. Why? Maybe it's because the instrumentals are so generic, the lyrics are so earnest... there's no edge to 'em. There's nothing memorably bad or good about them.

Generally they broadcast what people want to hear, and unfortunately youth culture has reduced itself to a very narrow music preference. Usually people really into music don't listen to mainstream radio because of the selection, and so it leaves the people who casually listen to it. So it's a catch 22, and it's mostly youth demanding solely gangsta rap, R&B/pop/whatever you want to call it/ classic rock/ pop punk. It's sickening. Plus most people are turned off by insturmental music now because they can't take the time to suit the music to a mood and atmoshere, so they go for whatever's the most accessable. I guess it's good in a sense for people not heavily involved in music, because it provides something that's easy for them, although it doesn't change my opinion that it's sickening.
