I'm not entirely sure y'know. I remember reading it and laughing, and in my head rage against the vending machine was the name.

Yeah i remember reading about on the 'Office Ambience' section of The Wire and it is Rage Against the Coffee Machine.The name is great but i downloaded a few tracks by them and they were poo.

its hebrew, the literal meaning is- Fast, Plunder feel, spoil. but i looked it up and its from the book of isiah meaning " " "Hurrying to the spoil, he has made haste to the plunder."

fugazifan there has the translation right. i saw an interview with tori kudo (whose band maher shalal hash baz is) where he explained that he picked the phrase randomly from a bible. 'plunder speedeth - spoil hasteth' sounded very punk rock to him, apparently.

personally i think 'maher shalal hash baz' just has a nice ring to it. it's fun to say too.
