Seriously, though, Built to Spill is classic. Yes, they birthed a million crap followers, but who hasn't? They released many great albums.

Nirvana's brilliance is a given. But why compare the two? They sound nothing alike! Really... six-8 minute minimalist guitar epics and discordant sludge-pop. I don't understand why you felt the need to comapre them is all.

And yes, bts is better. Better musicians, better songs... but Nirvana is a better band. Makes complete sense to me.

nirvana was great but the overall output was not as good as BTS overall output IMO

Its probably their least poppy record, meaning it's still poppy, but has longer songs.
Not the best to start with, but a great album.

It is always recommended to start out with There is Nothing Wrong with Love. As much or more than new Pavement fans are directed to Slanted and Enchanted.

The first 7 songs on Keep It Like A Secret are perfection itself. And the sequence is soooo tasty
