They were touring rock musicians, I’m sure they got exposed to some bad shit. But clearly they have been able to keep it under control.

It looks nothing like heroin.

Maybe just some fault of the coloring due to a bad image, but it looks like ketchup.

Heroin can be black, brown, white... but Tabasco sauce red? Naw.

On the other hand, it certainly looks like they’re cooking something up, but the color and the mark on his face make me strongly doubt that it’s heroin.

I never really bought the weed-and-hallucinogens-in-the-past-only stories about them. Art scenes, music scenes, being in your twenties ... all will find you in a circle where hard drugs are used.

I still say that photo looks more like a joke than an actual h-boiling sesh, but I’m sure they came across plenty of shit.

They probably still do drugs today.

I'm pretty sure that photo was taken in Scotland too! Seem to recall a rumour about them buying a bag when they played the Venue here in Edinburgh back in '86.
