man!

i mean... this is probably the best it could ever possibly sound...

nicfit 07.11.2007 10:36 AM

sometimes the sound is a bit "wavy" but it's hard to tell wether this happens because the "recording guy" is moving or because the music itself is moving. Sounds like a living being with a real "body weight", amazing.

Can one of you guys post a link to the bittorrent? I went googling for it and cannot find. I know the seeder fell off the face of the earth, but I'll bookmark it and keep trying anyway.

andrei 07.11.2007 02:12 PM

Here it is: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-d....php?id=154035
But don't hurry, you'll be the 57th sad leecher waiting for a miracle

this mp3 is amazingggg

Gainsbarre 07.11.2007 06:09 PM

I was there as well. It was fucking AMAZING! It took me four hours to get there and I RSVP'd a long time ago so there was NO way I wasn't getting in. I walked up to some random kids, pretended to know them and cut in line with my friend. Nobody said shit to me, but I wasn't worried, I can pretend to be scary if I have to. Waited in line for about 15 mins., then got in! I hit my pipe & did some other stuff in the bathroom and got blown away by the show.

No, really, it's pretty obvious that "professional" (i guess) recordings HAVE to sound better than that mp3 file, but I like how it sounds, it has something almost "physical" going on. It's a good teaser that makes me wanna get the official release in my hands asap. Is there a sort of deadline for the editing? I suppose it could go on ===> infinity with so many hours/sources, a deadline is preferable, right? NO? boh.

there's a schedule and it's ludicrous. i've slept less than 20 hours since last wednesday and my eyes are about to rot out of my skull.

Chris keep your passion for finishing this burning but DAMN you need to chill out! Just make sure you're eating healthy inbetween at least.

That mp3 isn't too bad but the Boredoms were mic'd and they seem to shine through and overpower the other 77 drummers a lot of the time.

Anybody having the same "seeder" issue I'm having on EZ Torrent? All was good for HOURS but now it's dead again.

whoa.

krastian 07.09.2008 07:48 AM

Thanks for the info, Moshe.

It would suck if a DVD isn't released and it just gets screened in Japan.

I've been really looking forward to this crap.

Would you fake your own death on a sonic youth forum for them?

Ah man remember that time AtSonicPark faked his own death on a Sonic Youth internet forum? That was classic. He totally fooled me

Nike Brings Boredoms' 88Boadrum to L.A., Brooklyn

New 88 minute composition, performed by 88 drummers

They're baaaaaaack! Japanese psych-noise-crazy-genius-types Boredoms will once again bring the clattering of oh-so-many drums to the States this summer, in a bi-coastal sequel to last year's wildly successful 77BoaDrum event. This time out, they're calling it 88BoaDrum, and performances of the brand new 88-minute composition from Boredoms leader Eye will take place August 8 (8/8/08, you see) in both Los Angeles and Brooklyn, New York.

The Los Angeles event will take place beginning at 8:08 PM PST at the city's famed La Brea Tar Pits, and will feature 88 drummers selected by both the Boredoms and 88Boadrum artistic director Hisham Bharoocha of Soft Circle. The New York event, conducted on behalf of the Boredoms by Brooklyn's own Gang Gang Dance, goes down at 8:08 PM EST at the Williamsburg waterfront.

Both BoaDrums will be free and open to the public, but tickets will be required for entry. They'll be available starting Friday, July 18 at brownpapertickets.com, at L.A.'s Amoeba Records and the L.A. County Museum of Art, or at New York's Other Music and Sound Fix Records. Only one ticket will be available per person.
88BoaDrum is presented by Nike Sportswear, who will bring you the commemorative "88Boadrum NSW Tee collection". Attendees will be able to purchase t-shirts, featuring designs by Eye, that will be hand-screened at the events.

Bringing together the worlds of extreme avant garde music and gigantic athletics corporations? Guess it's a good way to "drum up" sales. (Ba dum dum!)

davenotdead 07.16.2008 04:38 PM

probably deserves its own thread Moshe

Moshe 07.16.2008 11:54 PM

you are welcome to start it.

TICKETS TO BOREDOMS' "88BOADRUM" AVAILABLE THIS FRIDAY
Boredoms are upping the ante of last year's 77BoaDrum event with a bi-coastal 88BoaDrum sequel which will take place on, you guessed it, 08/08/08. Featuring 88 drummers selected by the Boredoms and artistic director Hisham Bharoocha (Soft Circle), Eye's new 88-minute composition will be performed in Los Angeles at the La Brea Tar Pits and in Brooklyn on the Williamsburg Waterfront. The New York event will be conducted on behalf of the Boredoms by Gang Gang Dance and gets underway at 8:08PM EST. 88BoaDrum is FREE but you'll need a ticket for entry. Other Music has a very limited amount of tickets to the Williamsburg performance, which will be available starting at noon this Friday, July 18, until they're all spoken for. One ticket per person.

pokkeherrie 09.12.2008 06:50 AM

Or Thrill Jockey?

pokkeherrie 09.12.2008 07:25 AM

Or Starbucks... anyone would be fine by me. But since Vice were involved in the event itself they would seem the most likely candidate.
