**I have Epilepsy**

~~ 05.10.2006 09:52 AM

i had a flue once...

Inhuman 05.10.2006 10:32 AM

Oh, I have more:

I'm a hypochondriac, so I'm always concerned about my health

And a week ago I was burnin' up and it made me realize that I had a cystistis, and I thought it would go away once I was clean, but it never did. Bad part is, is that I had to give the doctor a urine sample, and what will they find? ...THC

Kim C Not G 05.10.2006 10:45 AM

You can't really notice it until you stop my hand, but my hands constantly shake. My parents took me to a doctor in the Bronx when I was a child claiming it was a "normal" doctor but I later found out it was a neurologist (spelling?). Anyway, I remembered she made me tie my shoes and put her stethoscope on my head. She also made me do a hand motion kinda like the coin on the knuckles pasttime but instead moving my thumb to each finger. Of course after I went there, I told all my little friends about my meeting and for some reason practiced the hand gesture she taught me. I now can do it really fast on both hands and backwards. My mother still says that nothing is wrong with me, but I don't know. Just weak nerves I guess. Its awkward in school though when aquaintances will come up to me and be like "you shake." hahaha.

truncated 05.10.2006 10:55 AM

It's the crack.

Kim C Not G 05.10.2006 11:00 AM

Definitely. I always knew my mother wasn't always " Hunnybunny this or Beige and angels that". All just to hide her past. I know, I know.

ha ha, cool doctor.

i sprang my wrist. OUCH. but i did it in the most james bond/keith richards way possible

WWKRD? What would Keith Richards do?

EMMAh 08.08.2006 06:55 PM

I get so stressed I make myself sick, hasn't happened in a while though :D *knocks on wood*
I'm also underweight from being stressed.

Ripchord 08.08.2006 06:58 PM

I have vitiligo (what Michael Jackson claims to have) so parts of my skin have no pigment.
Also, i'm extremely photosensitive, which pretty much means my immune system is wack and it decided that when i was 12 that i would be allergic to the sun.

YAY!!!

he would probably ignore it, actually.

i have osteo arthritis in my knees (the sort that results from injury, not from being old.)

luxinterior 08.08.2006 07:11 PM

I have scoliosis. Only a few people have been able to tell just by looking at me, though. One hip is lower than the other, and more noticeably, one shoulder lower than the other, and all of that sort of thing. When I was younger, the doctor predicted that I would be about 5'10 as an adult. I'm 5'5. My spine looks a bit like an "S", but it's definitely not as bad as it could've been, though I have to keep going in to get it checked periodically. And my spine doesn't just curve, it also twists. But I feel lucky because it also twists back into place, so on the outside I look pretty normal.

EDIT: The last time I went to the doctor, and he made me bend over (har har) to examine my spine and my perfectly shaped ass, when he finished checking it out--my spine that is--he said, "Okay, stand up straight. Oh wait, you can't." Yes, burn.

alyasa 08.09.2006 12:28 AM

I have astigmatism. It's a condition where your eyeballs are irregularly shaped, wherehas in myopia, it's either too elongated or too flat. It means I am both short sighted and long sighted. I practically can't see without my glasses.

krastian 08.09.2006 12:32 AM

Ha ha....yeah I have a really bad astigmatism too. I've been wearing glasses since I was 3. My mom said when I was little I'd cross my eyes and she freaked out thinking that I was fucked up or something when really I was just trying to focus on stuff.

*High five for being blind as hell

Haha. He is an awful person. Is that painful or anything? I've heard of it before but never knew what it was. It sounds way less scary than the name does, though. It's frighteningly close to 'tuberculosis.'

this used to happen to me all the time in middle school. i'd get worked up about not having done an assignment or something and this bubbling sensation would begin in my intestines. it still happens occasionally, but now it's seemingly triggered by hanging out with friends because that's when it ALWAYS happens.

I'm not constantly in pain or anything like that, although I can't say the same for the really bad cases of it that require surgery (hopefully mine won't in the future). Basically, if I want to sit down and do homework or something of the sort, I have to take a lot of long breaks, because my back does tend to bother me then. I used to paint all the time, but it hurts too much to do it that often anymore. The problem is that I'm in the same position for too long. I can do physical labor and it won't strain my back as long as I'm moving around, and not just standing there holding a heavy box or something, hahaha. You're right about the name though. I'd probably call it "Happy Back Pain", because how can you be upset when diagnosed with something that sounds so joyful?

alyasa 08.09.2006 01:57 AM

High fives for all the practically blind men and women of the Sonic Youth forums... Actually there's a guy in my class who uses something that looks like a miniature telescope to look at anything. He reads by placing the screen or book about 1 or 2 mm away from his face. That's about the distance of this hyphen: - The lecturers always give him special treatment because of this and he gets to hand in assignments a bit late and is given extra time in papers, because it's so hard for him to read. He really is blind, practically, but I've never worked up the nerve to actually ask him or talk to him about his condition. I did a project with him once and he's amiable and hardworking. Shame he doesn't recognise me whenever I see him around. If I call out his name, he has to stand right in front of my face to see who he's talking to...

acousticrock87 08.09.2006 02:07 AM

There's a guy on my campus who reads like. He wears glasses and holds stuff a millimeter from his face to read. He also uses a walking cane. I thought he was blind or something until I saw him reading.

alyasa 08.09.2006 02:31 AM

Rivers Cuomo had a beard and used a walking stick when he was in Harvard. :)

Prisstina 08.09.2006 08:09 PM

I'm a recovering hypochondriac. I used to worry SO much about my health that I'm sure it made it worse. I had stomach flu a year or two ago, and got freaked out and started looking up different gastrointestinal illnesses online. For months after that, I looked up literally dozens of various diseases and conditions because I thought I 'might' have them. I seriously can tell you the symptoms of almost every type of cancer. Since I have (had) frequent headaches, I used to think I had tons of neurological problems, namely a brain tumor. I had ONE brain tumor symptom, but I still believed I had it.

I had headaches almost every day of my last school year. They'd start out when I woke up, ease throughout the morning, and become much worse in the afternoon. They felt like something hot was filling up my head. Terrible.

I get really nauseous when I'm nervous or excited, and it usually happens in the morning. As soon as I wake up, I feel sick to my stomach and gag like crazy.

I have a nickel/cheap metal allergy, along with kerotosis pilaris. I can't wear any cheap metal jewelry for more than ten minutes, or I'll start to get an itchy rash. Its gotten to the point where I can actually sense whether or not something is cheap by the sensation I get on my skin. I have a prescription cream to treat the rashes I do get, from stupid things like the button on my pants. Kerotosis pilaris is a completely harmless and painless skin condition that affects your upper arms. Basically, too much skin grows around the hair follicles, making your upper arms red and bumpy. Fortunately, it really only shows up in winter when my arms are covered.

Other than that, I'm pretty healthy. I have allergies, but I'm rarely sick.

Rivers Cuomo went to Harvard? Wow.

Oh, I just looked it up. It was just recently. Yeah, I'd do that too if I were him.

LittlePuppetBoy 08.09.2006 08:36 PM

I had serious autism as a little kid. It's more like Asperger's syndrome now

Beat that!

Toilet & Bowels 08.09.2006 08:44 PM

my sister is sort of allergic to her own body which can potentially cause anapyllactic shock, so she has to carry around this thing called an epipen which she has to stab herself with if she fells an attack coming on, it's only happened once though.

LittlePuppetBoy 08.09.2006 08:47 PM

I'm allergic to sulphur drugs

Secret Boys 08.09.2006 08:49 PM

I have these wierd bumps on my nuts

Massenvernichtungswaffen 08.09.2006 11:15 PM

strange. I had a weird stomach thing that the doctor's thougt it could have been a worm, so they put a glove on and stuck a finger up my brownstar. it sucked. i was 7. I had it again recently, but it went away again. it's fucking intense. won't be shooting no heroin for it though.

atari 2600 08.09.2006 11:18 PM

I have a friend who went through a heroin addiction & ala Kurt Cobain & yourself (it sounds like) he still has bizarre stomach problems that doctors are unable to treat successfully.

k-krack 08.09.2006 11:21 PM

well right now i have these blisters on my leg and foot. i don't know if its from some kind of bug or the water from the cottage i went to recently.

Alex's Trip 08.09.2006 11:22 PM

I get that as well. Not exactly sure which metals I'm allergic too but I can't wear a wristwatch because it brings me out in a rash which sort of swells up a bit as well....well, goes sort of bumpy anyway. But I haven't had it for ages.

Also, I twisted my testicle once (no laughing matter!) and had to have an operation so I have a small (1 inch or so) scar on my ballsack. But you can barely see it due to the nature of ballsack skin and all that.

I sometimes get some of the symptoms you have. When I'm nervous or edgy I'll start gagging early in the morning and it goes on for like 10-15 minutes. I won't drink coffee when I feel stressed 'cause it only makes it worse.
Internet can be useful when you need information about something, but it can be destructive for hypochondriacs trying to find out what desease they think they have. When you search in those areas, you realize how many things can actually go wrong, when it comes to our health.

ricechex 08.10.2006 08:43 AM

I'm experiecning chest pains right now, mainly in the center of my chest and to the left, near the heart, which is scaring me. I went to the docs and he said i have a slower than avg heartbeat pulse, like i run 5 miles a day, which i don't. I take in vast amounts of caffeine (coffee, coke zero, occasssional red bull) throughout my day and don't eat right. Also, i smoke a good quanity of bud, which typically increaes the heart rate. i smoke cigs too,but have been cutting back. I know that has to go asap. But i would think my heart rate would be racing. It feels like its racing. So its strange. And of course, i'm doing personal research on the web and that can get u paranoid and running off in different directions. i'm freaked out about hearing my heartbeat and stuff.
