deerhunter were good last night, in the ~5 or 6 songs that i saw.
|
I cracked and just went for the CD. Only listened to the first few tracks because I have work to do, but it seems promising.
|
in case i haven't posted it; they are ok but quite boring.

Yeah. I love Deerhunter.
I noticed you said girlfriend. Are you guys "back together?" Am I opening a can of worms? Just curious. |
I didn't listen to it alot when it fist came out but I've really been enjoying their new ep lately.

me too. It's more of a grower than the immediate awesome of MICRO |
We never broke up.
But we're "going to soon". |
right. Right.
Y'know those little plastic lid things that you can like pop over an open can of catfood or tuna fish or something to keep it fresh once it's been opened? Why don't I just put one on the ol' can-a-werms? Eh? |
I still like them. I'm afraid they're going to turn into Animal Collective ripoffs with the way that Bradford is so into them. Maybe they weren't "on" that night because the format was changed up (the round robin thing). I didn't feel like going to their show in NY because it was going to be swamped. Got a low tolerance for assholes and I hope to never endure No Age again. The live vids I've seen of Deerhunter live have been disappointing, though. Bradford seems like a mopey Stephen Malkmus.
The new EP and the Fluorescent Grey EP are probably the best things they've done. They're most consistent when things are kept short and sweet. |
I would say that CRYPTO and MICRO are the best things they've ever done. Two incredible albums, boy!
And I dnt foresee them sounding anything like AC. Cuz they don't sound like that. No matter how much he likes them. |
I really like both Microcastle and Cryptograms - sometimes. Other times it's a bit hard to point out what it is that I actually like with it, times when I feel that it isn't really anything special. That the vocals are a bit annoying and the guitar riffs quite boring.
I prefer the times when I like them. |
They sound good. To my ears.
|
Deerhunter are a really cool band. All their stuff I have heard I have dug. Seen them live too and was quite impressed. Loved the noisey layered guitars. Singer needs a good feed, I thought.
|
he's got some disease. Makes him skinny.
|
SHiiiit.
|
deerhunter = pioneers of marfancore
edit: oh fuck, never mind. joey ramone broke that ground way before bradford cox. |

Probably my favorite pop/rock band of the later half of the 00's.
The new Atlas Sound is pretty damn good too. Definately in my top 10 of 2009. |
i never listened to this band, i assumed they were shit - but i remember reading that one of the members is in something cool, but i can't remember what band
anyone know what i'm talking about? |
Atlas sound mabye.
I quite like deerhunter. |
nah not atlas sound.
ann herself was apparently a total methhead whilst writing that book. haven't read it, don't plan to. |
Lotus plaza.
That record was better then atlas sound in my opion |
Saw them live once. They were okay. Nothing too special.

Well, maybe it was an unusual night for them, but I just got back from seeing them in Leeds, and thought it was utterly fantastic. Like seriously up there in the running for best 'indie rock' gig I've ever been to. I was in scary level bliss for pretty much the whole thing. Also, Cox is a great front man live... |
I still love Deerhunter. And Atlas Sound.

Probably just an off night, yeah. |

|

Wow.that was actually excellent, musically it might be better than the original.

I really liked the last Atlas Sound album.
