stop being such a pretty bitch!!
|
The Republican down the street told me gas prices will be back down to around $2.99 before next Christmas. Hey, he should know, since he's superior to me in political leanings.
What I'm most concerned about is this--the new James Bond movie comes out in November. Will I be able to afford to go see it? |

I wasn't even being serious. :( I just thought that pretty bitch was more complimentary than a petty one.
I like the bitch in you. it makes me cackle. anyways..... carry on. |

I'll take you to the movies in November, Tanky. That's sure to put you in a better mood. I'm a great movie date.

Nobody can do shit about the price of gas? I guess this speaks to the sense of powerlessness of most of us, and in a way I agree. But ultimately we can do something--by changing our habits (drive less, walk more, etc.), pressuring our representatives, and looking at alternatives like hyrbid cars.
Do you know it still costs only $40 to produce a barrel of oil? It's at $130 or whatever because investors are worried about having a big enough supply for their buyers. Prices are high not because of any real shortage, only a perceived or more accurately, feared shortage in the future. |

it is true. recent studies have shown this, sprawl still is created in cities with zoning, while exclusive living areas are taken up by the rich and the poor have to move out th sprawl edges. |
I live in a dense as fuck city. With electric-powered buses. I fortunately don't have to listen to it often unless it is a "fix the world's problems" conversation over beer or something.

Columbia, SC, where I live has NO public transportation to speak of. None. Can you believe it?! Probably 250 to 400 thousand in the greater metro area and no buses, no rail, nothing.
And there is no way to ride a bike around town unless you want to die. |

I used to not be a fan of yours because of you intense meat puppets hatred, but I'm quickly realizing how awesome you is. |
Quote:
you know who stops public transprtation? upper middle class people and wealthy people who do not want poor/working class people to have access to their neighborhoods. this happens all the time in Hosuton, where outlying areas like pearland and sugarland refuse to have th Houston Metro bus reach them. it helps keep away undesirables, you know? I hate it. |

ha ha! we all have our tastes. I cannot abide rockabilly, countrybily, psychobilly, hell, any fucking "billy". and I do not enjoy the meat puppets. you wold thibnk that country music made by guys on LSD would be better than it is, but it is not.. ;) |

That's no doubt true. The wealthy here are Old South wealthy, too, which makes them even more despicable in my book. They want to keep the poor away--and the blacks, and the hispanic, and healthy and fit liberals who like to ride bikes. |

i just don't find it to be all too funny though |
Futurama can be an acquired taste.
Its deffinitley a character based show. Best to watch it from the begining. |

And what the hell is with the fucking lightrail? That was an epic failure if I've ever seen one. |
Where I go to school has a fairly good bus system that is kept running by out-of-state college students and those working minimum wage jobs and the homeless. There's actually 3 bus systems, one for students within the general city area, one for anyone within the entire city/metro area, and one for anyone within the general downtown/city. The first two you have to pay for and the last one is free and looks like a trolley.
