I should add that production values aside, there isnt a Pixies album I dnt love. They were one of those bands that I was obsessed with during very formative years, so I still love all those records hard.

Fairly common for a while until vinyl started making a comeback. Then when they went to re-issuing Come On and Surfer on LP, I think they stopped compiling the EP and LP on CD.

I have the import. I dnt like it compiled. I prefer them as seperate entities.

I totally agree with that. And it goes back to the Hendrix thread as well... sorry, here I go, opening up a can of worms... I think a lot of people listen to certain music because it's "revolutionary" or it "changed something" and all that is well and good. But fuck, if it's not entertaining to my ears, then I don't really give a fuck. For example, Rage Against the Machine may have changed some shit but that doesn't mean I have to listen to them, just acknowledge their shittiness and the fact that they had an American Flag upside down on their amps (whoa!!!!!!!) and go on.

I got into Nirvana in 4th grade...got into the Pixies when I was 20.

but yes, surfa rosa had the same effect on me as nevermind did and the same with the first time I heard goo (first sonic record i heard) and the same with the first time I heard the beatles or 'is this it' by the strokes.

I think everyone of those albums killed a few brain cells and created a few mutations in my head...

Granted, the poll let you vote for multiple entries so I suspect people voted for surfer rosa as a second favorite to whatever their favorite was anyway if they knew about that on the poll. then again they could've done that on doolittle. Doolittle is the best album in the universe.

My fave album is Bossanova, but two of their post records are awesome too: At The BBC and Complete B-Sides (which is a little less good than its previous bootleg version, The B-Side File 3rd Edition)

I LOVE the first half of Surfer Rosa but then some of the songs near the end irk me. But only a couple.

Doolittle has Gouge Away and Hey. You can't fuck with those songs.

But then again, you also can't fuck with the song trompe...I love that one.
