My beef with both the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus is actually kinda simple jealousy.

I mean, in my band we're in our mid to late 20s and poor, and these people aren't even old enough to attend one of our shows and they're touring the world and have their pretty boy (girl in Miley's case) faces plastered all over the media. It's like, "what the fuck did you do to deserve such success that early in life?!"

Easy. They decided to make themselves succesful. They have the look, the gimmick and the ability to write (or at least perform) ignorable pop songs that sound great to twelve yr old girls. They probably understand that later in life this will come back to haunt them but who cares when youre rich at 15.

they did not decide SHIT. they auditioned for DISNEY and DISNEY made them into pre-packaged pop stars.

Give the kids more credit than that, I'm sure they had a fairly good idea of what was to come if they landed something for disney or another comapny of that ilk.

I'm saying that if you walk into a disney audition and you're trying to become a gritty-street-cred MC or some experimental noisey rock group, you have obviously made the choice to start out as some puppet act, as you said a pre-packaged pop star.
