regardless of what we all might think personally about, against or in favor of Michael Jackson, his career and his music is unprecedented, and without parallel..

No one is more popular, both in america and across the world, with the exception perhaps of Bob Marley.

Let us remember his legacy, of good pop music with substance, bad ass dance moves, and an all around entertaining career, even with many many obstacles and hindrances..

Nefs Igziar Yimareh! (God Bless his Soul!)

Facebook is being raped by Michael Jackson comments.

automatic bzooty 06.25.2009 07:16 PM

the ikara cult 06.25.2009 07:21 PM

the BBC have a bloke from the NME who looks just like Rob Instigator

pantophobia 06.25.2009 07:25 PM

regardless of what will come, the commentary, and his own faults self imposed or not, he certainly could not be ignored, for better or worse he grabbed the headlines and took it to a level that is just out there

if the worst is true, nothing excuses it for sure, but, certainly, his upbringing, his beatings, his lifestyle made him a sort of Pinocchio in the face of the planet, question is who was pulling those strings, whether he was mental or just sheltered and those strings were just attached to reality or his handlers may never be truly known

either way just the whole situation has a haunting feel to it, whatever anyone thinks of him, he certainly illicited a reaction and made people take notice, you couldn't ignore

if this forum required a breathlizer, then fuck, spinning off the wall regardless

I think it sucks that his personal issues have tainted his music for so many people. I do believe, as do a number of you here, that a person's personal life should not be considered when accessing the quality of their music, at least in most instances. I think Michael Jackson is an example of this unfair cross-assessment and it sucks that he will never have that chance to come back and redeem his pop credibility.

floatingslowly 06.25.2009 07:53 PM

he was 96.7% space alien even before the nambla shit.

I honestly think it was the zombie dance in thriller.

all those pounds of make-up hanging off his face made him finally feel free.

fucking space aliens, man. they are inside our make-up.

GeneticKiss 06.25.2009 07:57 PM

I didn't expect to see a whole lot of respect here, but some of the comments in this thread are kind of tasteless. Whether or not you like his music or think he was a pedo, we're talking about a man's (?) life here.

Michael Jackson was probably the closest thing pop music has had to an Elvis Presley (what do you want to bet there will be people thinking he's still alive for a while)...RIP

GeneticKiss 06.25.2009 08:04 PM

Well, I can expect to hear lots of MJ songs on the radio at work tomorrow...

!@#$%! 06.25.2009 08:21 PM

Rob Instigator 06.25.2009 08:46 PM

No way. He's dead and with good reason. 3 years away from the 30th anniversary of Thriller and he's preparing his body for a live zombie version of the video. 3 years of rot will help that well.

What does this mean for John Merrick's skeleton?

Kallisti23chaos 06.25.2009 10:11 PM

all things being said about Michael- i believe Michael was a man full of Love and his musick says so, and it will last forever.

It's weird but he has been the 1st (or second) guest star in the Simpsons.
It's hard to think he had some sense of humor.

Not really, as long as you don't get a tribute tattoo and at least you didn't buy one of the O2 tickets.

Thriller was the first tape I ever owned, other than a tape of Halloween music that I wore out.

terriblecanyons 06.25.2009 11:51 PM

Haha, no, I'm not gonna get a tribute tattoo (although I did think about it). No matter how much I lol at the jokes and shit posted on here I still truly enjoy his music and he was a fantastic person.

Sonic Youth 37 06.25.2009 11:53 PM

I was never really that big of a MJ fan. I like Off The Wall OK, but Thriller is just beat to death and I never understood all the dances and crotch grabbing. The video he did with Janet for "Scream" was in fucking tents though

terriblecanyons 06.25.2009 11:55 PM

Scream is one of my favorite songs by him. I dgaf about the crotch grabbing, etc. His music is awesome.

greedrex 06.26.2009 12:09 AM

The King of Pop.
shit
MJ gallore everywhere for about two months.
I'm moving to Fidji.
RIP

automatic bzooty 06.26.2009 12:33 AM

what's going to happen to the beatles catalogue?

terriblecanyons 06.26.2009 12:35 AM

That's a good question. Maybe Macca will buy it back?

Sonic Youth 37 06.26.2009 12:39 AM

I say Kanye West will buy it and remix every album to his shit taste.

terriblecanyons 06.26.2009 12:55 AM

It'd probably actually be lil wayne. Ugh.
