I see the UK media is doing it's best to scare the shit out of people with it's sensationalist hoopla over the cold spell. I've read nonsense like the UK is now colder than the South Pole, printing a satellite image of the UK resembling an ice popsicle to prove it. I've also read the UK will run out of grit and gas if the cold spell continues for another week. I'm surprised there isn't panic in the streets, but then who would want to panic in the streets when they're all covered in ice and snow? Too slippery to panic on!

knox 01.09.2010 01:23 PM

No gas? boohoo.

demonrail666 01.09.2010 01:36 PM

well my chip shop finally decided to open so the end isn't quite nigh

Wear clothes. Wrap yourselves in blankets. Man up.
Do you think eskimos have heating? So.

No photos....but the base (which is pretty much as far as we got) looked promising. I was actually quite amazed we got that far. It was like 3 feet high and like 4 or 5 feet in diameter. Though we didn't do it the eskimo way so it might've not worked....but who knows.

Phlegmscope 01.09.2010 03:48 PM

It's been around -20 C here, but nothing is closed and no one gets a day off.

The UK shames me when it gets a bit of snow and the temperature drops below freezing. It just seems to want to roll over and die.

demonrail666 01.09.2010 04:54 PM

snow assisted suicide.

Keeping It Simple 01.09.2010 05:12 PM

I've been keeping my street cred intact by wearing my Levi's Sherpa Lined Trucker's Jacket when I'm out in the cold. I've owned it for 14 years.

floatingslowly 01.09.2010 05:40 PM

gawd knows how much the sunday plumber charges.

What street cred? If you walked down the street where I live wearing that jacket, you'd probably have your face reshaped in the form of David Cameron's arse. Or you'd be raped by mean snowmen.

And Kids are paying 50K to go to college get a degree in psychology and
get out of school and have to wait tables for the lack of jobs. Yet plumbers
always got work and at big bucks...300 to 400 thank God I got some minor
plumbing skills so I could tackle it myself.

Keeping It Simple 01.10.2010 01:50 PM

More snow was forecast for my neck of the woods last night, but we didn't get any, thank God. Plus it seems the snow is slowly thawing as it was a lot slushier today and a lot less icy.

knox 01.10.2010 02:06 PM

Keeping It Simple 01.15.2010 02:39 PM

The snow is now rapidly thawing away in my neck of the woods, but the local paper saw fit to print on it's front page a piece on the town's namesake in Australia experiencing over the past three days temperatures exceeding 40 degrees celsius!
