I'm trying to figure out whether this tape is not yet released or sold out. I'm guessing the former.

Thanks, Martin. I shall be seeing Thurston Moore, Lee Ranaldo, Wild Flag, Kurt Vile... at Indie-O Fest in Mexico City in April. Seems like both of us are likely to have some recordings of nice shows to share. |

https://www.southernlord.com/index2.php Earth - "Angels Of Darkness, Demons Of Light II" CD Recorded in the same two week session as Angels Of Darkness, Demons Of Light I by Stuart Hallerman (recorded Earth2!) at Avast! and mastered by Mell Detmer, Angels of Darkness, Demons of Light II carries on in the freely improvised, folkloric vein of the title track from the last release. Tape was rolled and spontaneous composition occurred. Angels Of Darkness, Demons Of Light II is striking in many ways, not least in the wildly improvised nature of this particular recording. The songs 'Sigil Of Brass' and 'The Corascene Dog' perfectly emphasise how the interplay between the foursome becomes even more accomplished as the recording evolves, a testament to the dynamism of this particular line up. Meanwhile, the track 'His Teeth Did Brightly Shine' veers further into an entirely other direction, recalling sounds of the great British Acid Folk generation. This new material brings forth some highly original and deeply mesmerising tones throughout, at times more hopeful and less dark and death oriented than previous work. As with the Angels 1 album the line-up again consists of Dylan R. Carlson (Guitar, Bass...Capt. of the ship!) Adrienne Davies on drums and percussion (on this release there is more percussion of all sorts), Lori Goldston returns on cello, and Karl Blau plays bass. . As with the first part, it again has truly amazing artwork by Stacey Rozich. Tracklisting 1. Sigil of Brass 2. His Teeth Did Brightly Shine 3. Multiplicity of Doors 4. The Corascene Dog 5. Dylan Carlson's tape, "Edward Kelley's Blues", can now be pre-ordered at the Tapeworm: http://www.tapeworm.org.uk/ttw41.html |

Arrived, is awesome. More of the same, but I dig. |

Cool. I pre-ordered the LP plus poster and hoodie. I hope they have changed their old ways of shipping LPs on bubble-mailers as opposed to cardboard boxes. More importantly, I'm dying for listening to it. hirsute_biped, by the way; the postman visited me this morning. I received your package. You owe me a private message. Reply, please. |
Mince came in a thick sturdy cardboard box, with a bubble wrap envelope inside.
Both discs are 45rpm, making for shorter tracks than Vol.1, but they sound great. |
That's reassuring. They used to send stuff to me in bubble-mailers a few times when I ordered in the past. Needles to say, the albums arrived in pretty bad shape everytime. I love how 45 RPM records sound. This one must have a very ballsy vibe.

Dylan Carlson and Adrienne Davies interviewed by Elliott Sharp for tinymixtapes:

the new one is also streaming here: http://3voor12.vpro.nl/luisterpaal/albums.html

Tour dates below. According to recent interviews with Dylan and Adrienne Davies, the line-up this time will consist of the same personnel who recorded "Angels Of Darkness, Demons Of Light" Parts I & II: Dylan Carlson, Adrienne Davies, Lori Goldston, and Karl Blau (who was unable to join the band for the past tour and whose place was taken by Angelina Baldoz).

Dylan Carlson's tape, "Edward's Kelley's Blues", is now available in a different edition exclusive for North America, over at Forced Exposure:
http://beta.forcedexposure.com/Artis...SONALBION.html It's pretty good. Really eerie, with a sort of dark vibe, and plenty of distortion. Too distanced from Earth's current developments, but with Dylan Carlson's trademark awesomeness all over it. Really made me regret not being able to pre-order "Wonders From The House of Albion". |
I saw them the other night. Earth were really good,
I was loving how the instrumentation creates a really hypnotic feel to their music. Mount Eeerie on the other hand was very dull. I was disappointed with his performance because I have enjoyed some of his previous work. |
the new album is horrible

Earth 2, Hex, and the 2011 album are my favorites

Can't wait to hear II and I! I should really get a job so I place a rather large order with Southern Lord!
As recent subscriber to the great magazine The Wire was excited to see Dylan and Adrienne on the front cover on the March issue. Complete with a decent interview. ![]() |
Playing Vol. II, forgot to adjust speed to 45rpm, sounds killer at 33! plus huge thunderclap outside right now. I'll hafta get that issue of the Wire.
"exclusive" travelogue/performance/ghost story video at Wire site: http://www.thewire.co.uk/articles/8503/ I saw Sir Richard Bishop play that hotel a few years ago during his Freaks of Araby tour, didn't realize it had burned since then, beautiful weird old place then, more so now maybe. |
Bump.
Not at all related with "Angels of Darkness, Demons of Light", but it looks like an interesting performance nonetheless: Dylan Carlson, Lori Goldston, Jessika Kenney, and Greg Campbell will be performing a live score for a film by Vanessa Renwick, in Portland, Oregon, on May 27th: http://hollywoodtheatre.org/sv-prese...tic-megafauna/ |
Heavy Funk: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxEyG...eature=related

So much awesomeness shouldn't be limited to one date only. Lori Goldston, Jessika Kenney, Dylan Carlson, and Greg Campbell will also be performing a score for Vanessa Renwick's "Charismatic Fauna", in Seattle, Washington, on June 9th at Northwest Film Forum. Pertinent information below: http://www.lorigoldston.com/charismatic-megafauna/ Also, Earth will be touring Japan in September. |

![]() ![]() ![]() These images posted on the drcarlsonalbion tumblr of Dylan's "favorite tube amp ever... originally part of military movie projector." After not very much poking around on eBay, I found a vintage military projector with a very similar looking panel: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BELL-HOWELL-JAN-Super-16mm-MILITARY-INDUSTRIAL-Projector-SAN-FRANCISCO-NAVY-/140896154412?_trksid=p5197.m1992&_trkparms=aid%3D1 11000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D14%26m eid%3D4954783150062032002%26pid%3D100015%26prg%3D1 006%26rk%3D1%26sd%3D140896154412%26 projector profiled on this site (with tubes notated): http://www.film-center.com/jan.html I have thought about doing something like that with a projector from a flea market, but lack the electronic skills to do such a conversion. Les Paul used film projector amps and speakers in his early experiments with electric guitars. |
Awesome info! Thanks

Okay, here I go again:
new website http://www.drcarlsonalbion.com/ with links to all the disparate homepages, blogs, social sites, etc... for Earth & drcarlsonalbion. Following all the links therein, some cool news is found: Dylan has recorded a soundtrack for a German Western, Gold!, directed by Thomas Arslan, premiered Feb. 9th at Berlin International Film Fest. Also, Earth is back to a duo format for now with Dylan and Adriene, and planning to a new record this spring (with hints of unnamed special guests) and some Keith Levene influences. No plans to tour though. Coleman Grey Kickstarter project is going to get some attention too, with a release this year. I still need to pre-order myself. I don't know about anyone else, but obviously I'm kind of obsessed and excited. There is a track called Gold! on the new Brokeback record that sounds a lot like Earth, and several that sound influenced by Morricone western soundtracks, most of all Who Is Bozo Texino?, itself named for a hobo graffiti documentary. (I posted about the album here: http://www.sonicyouth.com/gossip/sho...99#post1222299 Coincidence? A case of great minds thinking alike? |
this excites me immensely. very interested to hear where they will head next, one would assume that a duo simply could not replicate the intricacy of the Hex-AODDOL stuff.
