Also bought Isis' Oceanic, but despite loving the music it's going to have to go back, as I hate the vocals.

How is white1? I haven't heard it yet :(. As for Isis, I have a ltd. edition clear isis record and I've heard panopticon, and I love it, but I agree totally with you! The vocals are nearly unbearable, but I love the rest

An unbearably overmentioned record(amongst the rubbish) but very worth your money and time.

This weekend I was in Chicago and stopped in at Reckless.
I could have spent a lot of money, but I had to keep it in check due to my pathetic financial status.
I got:
Leviathan - The Tenth SubLevel Of Suicide 2LP
Frost - Soul Night/Awaken 7"

I passed on a Death Sentence: Panda! 10" that I really wanted. I was proud of my willpower.

Iain 01.16.2007 11:19 PM

Congrats. I have been eyeing up records at Reckless via the dangerous wonder that is gemm.com

Katy 01.17.2007 04:26 AM

I've pre-ordered the new Ping Pong Bitches album. And I'm waiting for 'For Every Punk Bitch & Arsehole' by Hang On The Box, 'Frumpie One Piece' by The Frumpies and 'She's Out There' by Ludella Black to arrive by post.

The last CDs I bought in an actual shop were the soundtracks to 'Avenue Q' and 'Annie'.

The last vinyl I bought was 'The Rest Is Silence' by My Cat Is An Alien.

That's a good one. It's nothing original or anything but it's a good album and the songs have the sort of unusual freshness that pop-punk has been lacking for years.

That makes it look like I'm more Tangerine Dream obsessed than I really am. I bought Zeit in a job lot of 3 TD lps. I don't think I'll want to keet Phaedra and Cyclone, they are probably rubbish.

Rob Instigator 01.22.2007 03:47 PM

THE CURE - "the walk" 12" maxi single (6 songs including the walk and let's go to bed. fantastic!)
THE BUTTHOLE SURFERS - "widowermaker E.P." on 10 inch vinyl from Blast First (UK)(bong song!)
ROBERT ANTON WILSON - "maybe logic" DVD documentary on one of my heroes that passed away last week. fucking AWESOME
WILLIAM HOOKER/LEE RANALDO - "the celestial answer" CD. Here is what it says on the sticker on the front, "As individual performers, New Yoprk percussionist William Hooker and Sonic Youth guitarist and co-founder Lee Ranaldo are explosive. As collaborators, they are thermonuclear. Open your ears and they'll take you on a soaring voyage through an ecstatic firmament, into the howling mouth of infinity."
In other words, free form noise/jazz exploration! fucking GREAT!
DINOSAUR JR - "feel the pain" 7" vinyl, limited edition poster sleeve.
ARCHERS OF LOAF - "mutes in the steeple/smoking pot in the hot city" 7" single! I love the instrumental smoking pot in the hot city.
THURSTON MOORE/JOHN WIESE - split 7" vinyl, noise exploration heavyweights. This one is RARE and another feather in my sonic youth cap, man I gots to get all the sonic youth stuff and extraneous sonic youth stuff!!!! NOISE!!!!
LEE RANALDO - "broken circle/spiral hill" CD with Lee ranaldo and his freaked out noise explorations and he covers brand new love. YEAH! I got a sonic boner!
SONIC YOUTH - 1991 the Year punk broke VHS
SONIC YOUTH - Screaming fields of sonic love VHS
THE BEST OF FLIPSIDE VIDEO #2 - vhs, with minutemen live in 1983, and minor threat live in 1983.

Norma J 01.22.2007 04:15 PM

They're actually really good.....I'm not sure how much yr into electronic music, but give them a shot. I love pretty much everything from Electronic Meditation through Exit.....and even some of the 90's stuff.

Iain 01.23.2007 07:36 AM

Neat...I don't mind electronic music at all. I'll probably keep them unless they are really rubbish. It's too much hassle selling them on and they seem to be among the Tangerine Dream records that clutter up second hand record shops and sell for about £3.

Bought this:
