I dunno, maybe people take him for granted. The guy scored 51 goals last season. Not unusual for him but ridiculous by any other standard and if any other player did that (with the possible exception of Ronaldo) there wouldn't be any question about them getting it. Not that it's all just about goals but I still don't think there's anyone at his all-round level.

h8kurdt 12.03.2019 06:30 AM

Can't disagree with that. His normal would be everyone's absolute best if anyone could even match it. Personally I would have liked Van Dijk to get it but that's to break up the usual winners (Modric last season aside).

Someone mentioned about how Barcelona game at Anfield wasn't down to him. He set up chance after chance and no one put them away. Was it Demeble in the last ten minutes who squandered a peach of a chance? Only so much a player can do on the pitch.

'When you have important titles maybe you can sit at the table with Cristiano!': Ronaldo's sister launches FURIOUS Instagram rant at Virgil van Dijk after Liverpool defender jokingly questioned whether Juventus star was really a candidate for the Ballon d'Or

Apparently Ronaldo's sister has no sense of humour :D :D :D
And Daily Mail should follow a training how to trim down the length of their headlines :p

i think i never saw any of those goals or against who they were scored, so i honestly had no idea.

i don’t recall what barcelona did last year, nor argentina for that matter. so, totally off my radar

ah, yeah, see, van dijk would have made much more sense to me because of such an epic campaign.

i get messi’s general genius (who doesn’t?) but i have practically zero data from him for 2019. even this anfield game you mention is not registering at the moment, and i most likely saw it, lol.

damn...

h8kurdt 12.03.2019 09:26 AM

Sure you remember that Liverpool game. Barcelona went in after beating Liverpool 3-0. Cue Liverpool actually playing well and cue THAT now famous corner by TAA against a shell shocked, dawdling Barcelona

ah! yes lololol. i had lost access to that disk partition. thanks for the reminder.

that video does not make messi look fantastic though.

anywyay... it is what it is. while the oscar might have gone to messi, the new york critics circle chooses van dijk ;P

!@#$%! 12.03.2019 12:47 PM

oh here is both legs. messi did beautiful work at home, i think that’s the game i missed (or... did i?)

I'm not even a Liverpool fan but that still sends shivers whenever I watch it

Surely this is the end for Pellegrini and Silva .... surely

No idea. If Moyes comes back to Everton I'm done for the rest of the season.

h8kurdt 12.05.2019 02:38 PM

Silva sacked. Sad to see tbh. At least we'll always have battering Man Utd 4-0

who’s next?

new boss, same as the old boss?

demonrail666 12.07.2019 05:14 AM

Duncan Ferguson being appointed caretaker manager throws a bit of a curveball as I thought that was what the owners had in mind for Moyes. In that role, maybe till the end of the season, Moyes makes a certain amount of sense but not anything more permanent than that.

h8kurdt 12.07.2019 06:58 AM

I'm not expecting much from.his appointment. Lord knows he's been chucked in the deep end with these fixtures. If Everton can actually show some fight and a bit of brains like they did against Leicester then I'm ok with a loss today.

I can see West Ham doing one over Arsenal. Which would be great.

demonrail666 12.07.2019 07:22 AM

Arsenal are there for the taking but so are West Ham. It'll likely come down to who ends up being worse on the day.

I'm convinced Everton just need a bit of luck. They didn't deserve to lose against Leicester and while I don't think they'll end up calling this a good season, I'll be surprised if they don't finish around midtable. Make no mistake though, so long as West Ham persist with Pellegrini, they're in real trouble.

demonrail666 12.07.2019 09:38 AM

Watched the game. Everton defended really well and capitalised on some stupid mistakes by Chelsea, who dominated possession and on another day would've converted their chances, but this was exactly the kind of performance and result you needed. And needless to say it's always nice watching Chelsea slip up.

And there really needs to be a long look at whether VAR is worth persisting with. None of its decisions were game changers but the stupid delays after each goal is killig the atmosphere

h8kurdt 12.07.2019 10:53 AM

*gets on knees and praises Big Dunc*

I actually didn't get to watch it! Is said I'd meet up with a friend in Manchester forgetting about the noon kick off. However, reading about it it sounds like the performance that was desperately needed. All guts and determination. Glad to see Dcl get a couple of goals too. Lord knows he's tested my patience but fair play to the lad.

Onwards to Man United!

I thimk my Fave Duncan Ferguson moment is actually Jimmy Bullard's face after he'd seen him punch out Paul Scharner

Well they scored one, I suppose. Just a shame about their 3.

But I'm pretty much past caring now. Pellegrini has to go but I'm not sure any manager could make a success of things at the club in its current state. Rotten from top to bottom.

h8kurdt 12.10.2019 05:51 AM

You feeling like you're going to go down? I can't see it personally but football is a strange beast.

h8kurdt 12.10.2019 07:22 AM

Also, what you feeling like needs changing specifically? Signing dud players players (something Everton know a lot.about) has got to be the first thing, right? Can't be spending £40 million on an already risky striker and acting surprised that he isn't doing anything.

demonrail666 12.10.2019 09:47 AM

we are bad enough to go down. There's no fight in the club. The minute they go behind they just crumble. There's some decent individuals there but they're not a team.

The core problem is always gonna be the owners. They've tried every kind of manager and none of them have worked out. They have a terrible reputation within the game to the extent that the only way they can attract anyone to the club of any real quality is by offering them a fortune in wages, which encourages the very kind of mercenary attitude that makes building of any kind of team spirit impossible.

!@#$%! 12.14.2019 08:21 AM

lively first half for liverpool v watford, fast pace from both sides and quality makinf a difference when it comes to taking advantage of goal chances: mo scored a beauty right after watfor missed a great opportunity (and if my eyes dont deceive me, a possible penalty call, but i no longer get what is a handball per the rules).

2-0 final score and watford did a good job actually but in the end they got mo’d

h8kurdt 12.14.2019 01:59 PM

Think that game showed West Ham fans can stop worrying. It ain't gonna be a fun season but you ain't getting relegated!

demonrail666 12.14.2019 04:25 PM

Yeah. Not that bad a performance either. Fans have been saying for ages that Antonio and Haller should be up front together and today Pellegrini did it. Almost makes you wonder if he reads the fan forums ... almost.

But yeah. I think we'll just about pick up enough points to avoid the drop. It won't be pretty but is it ever?

!@#$%! 12.14.2019 05:08 PM

oh! tomorrow, wolfitos v spurs! the clash of the portuguese managers...

may nuno win

as for arsenal v man city... poor arsenal, i expect

!@#$%! 12.15.2019 09:09 AM

jfc spurs scores first

this is a great first half regardless

h8kurdt 12.15.2019 09:47 AM

Everton up 1-0 against Man Utd. All it took was Duncan Ferguson to take his jacket off in the rain and the players shit themselves to kick it up a gear. Gotta love it.

!@#$%! 12.15.2019 10:54 AM

aw, fuck, spurs scored late and won

fair result given the relentless action and how wolves missed chances when they had them

great game / not sorry

what is the resemblance between Van Bommel and a turkey?

they both won't make it until Christmas
