...aaaaand Dortmund lost to Augsburg

1-0

They're fucking toast.

demonrail666 02.04.2015 10:15 PM

And Augsburg down to 10 men. The board won't sack Klopp and he says its his duty to turn things around, but, for that squad to be in that position, you have to wonder how long he can go on there. Any indication of him losing the dressing room? I saw Hummels go over to appease fans at the end. Not to read too much into it but that would've certainly isolated Klopp from the more angry supporters. I've seen similar things happen at West Ham, under Roeder, Pardew and Avram, all of whom we now know lost the dressing room. And if that has happened at Dortmund, there's really no going back. The manager just has to go.

!@#$%! 02.04.2015 10:26 PM

i unfortunately didn't have time to watch the game but i read about all that and now i'm looking at the pictures.

i don't know if it's klopp or what but if the manager goes who comes in then? might be throwing gasoline on the fire.

i haven't seen the game but i'd get rid of immobile, that's who i'd toss out. also: mkhitarian. also: ramos. bunch of zeros. that team can't fucking score.

though klopp probably too stubborn. last time i saw reus playing behind immobile in the middle, when he actually plays best at the wings.

so fucking frustrating. they have good players. gonna watch weidenfeller on youtube now.

dortmund *finally* won -- 3-0 vs. relegation competitor freiburg

i could only watch in spots, but interestingly, freiburg plays a possession-based system instead of the counterattack that opponents have used to plague dortmund recently.

aubameyang had a hand in all 3 goals (created the first for reus and scored 2)

this is a nice result but i'd be very cautious-- i want to see them play against a bus-parking side before i make predictions

in spite of their victory dortmund is still in a relegation playoff spot (just not automatic) so they'll need a string of victories to be clear of danger... and still they could lose key players over the summer (i doubt reus or hummels would want to be stuck there forever)

bayern, meanwhile, is back to winning and clear in front.

h8kurdt 02.07.2015 02:29 PM

Everton/Liverpool derby.

Why, oh bloody why would you only bring Barkley on at 85 minutes when the player he replaced (Naismith) was clearly having a bad game. To make it even worse Barkley sets up two great chances that could have led to goals. Negative Moy....Martinez I mean.

demonrail666 02.08.2015 01:22 PM

OMG! 1-1. No way did Man U deserve a point. West Ham were all over them till the last minute. No way could any Man U fan have watched that and thought they deserved anything.

sorry about the result, but i'm happy to see your change in perspective in just a year--not to mention two. could you have imagined that a tie with man u would have been so disappointing? so, congrats for that.

demonrail666 02.08.2015 01:51 PM

True. But to be denied a win in the last minute against a 'big' team at any time would've felt awful. That sense of being so close and yet so far. But yeah, we're playing well and generally doing ok. I'll say this though: when you look at the cost of Man U's squad compared to ours, their fans should be really worried.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

just ran to read the reports-- that's *amazing* news

now if hummels could only stop those man u rumors the same way...

anyway, this friday they play mainz-- if they can win 2 in a row i'll start to breathe a little easier

demonrail666 02.11.2015 12:02 PM

Never say never I'd be seriously surprised if they don't finish the season safe. I just can't look at their squad-sheet and equate it with a team that might go down. There has to be three worse teams in that league than them, come the end of the season. It'd be the biggest unexplainable drop in form I think I've ever seen.

i think other teams have figured out how to deal with their tactics and dortmund hasn't figured out a response

as i noted somewhere above they defeated a possession-based side--- everybody else i've seen them play defends hard and catches them on the counterattack.

HEY, ZONAL MARKING IS BACK!!!

http://www.zonalmarking.net/page/1/

i didn't find an analysis of dortmund's debacles unfortunately but at least he's blogging about tactics again

demonrail666 02.11.2015 04:34 PM

Ew, tough on Everton

There is a God!

Big point for West Ham. Down to 10 men, up against it. Not pretty but very well defended. I'll take that.

h8kurdt 02.11.2015 04:46 PM

Bloody hell. Goddammit. Just dammit. Of all the games Everton have lost this season that has to rank next Man Utd for the ones that hurts the most. Didn't deserve to lost that.

As for Barry, I hope he gets a kicking for that sending off. Fucking moron.

demonrail666 02.12.2015 12:19 PM

Check the look on the face of MU's press officer as LVG gets her to hand out his 'dossier', apparently proving that Big Sam was wrong to describe MU as a long ball team. I'm starting to really enjoy Van Gaal's total lack of a sense of humour.

h8kurdt 02.13.2015 01:44 PM

Andy Carroll really can't catch a break can he?

!@#$%! 02.13.2015 02:32 PM

holy shit it's time for dortmund-mainz!

--

eta unable to catch any steady stream yet but at 10' dortmund was already losing by 1

---

still 1-0 at halftime and dortmund keeps squandering chances

I feel sorry for the guy but he's a massive financial burden. He's on 90k a week till 2019 with no realistic prospect of anyone wanting him on those wages.

We'll just have to grin and bear it, playing him when we can, knowing we're stuck with him for the next 4 years. Unless the board can work out some kind of pay-off deal. But it'll be up to Carroll if he wants to accept it.

Fortunately, with the arrival of Sakho and Valencia, I honestly think we're a better team without him. Especially now Nolan's being gradually sidelined, too.

Looks like the turnaround might finally be on
