Kauko Röyhkä: Etelän Peto
Art Deco: Syvään Uneen |
New Triptykon album in triple 10" box set form. Amazing package, tons of HR Giger art on the cover and in the booklet, plus on the inner jackets.
The album lived up to my expectations from the last one, and maybe exceeds it. Absolutely incredible in their depth and imagination, which even the best metal bands sometimes lack. Easily the best metal group on earth right now. |
![]() Got my man Danny Fitz's Calypso compilation in the mail yesterday! Nice! |
By the way D, great liner notes!

How do you feel about the new Lantlôs? |
How's Mr. Curtain feeling about this one? I haven't picked it up yet. I had planned on it, but I no longer have the kind of money to buy every record I want as soon as it comes out, and throw a shit ton of stuff I happen to see while I'm at the store on top of it. I chose FUTURE DEATH instead this week, and I'm quite happy with it. |
Anyway, my last albums purchased are:
FUTURE DEATH - Special Victim Got so-so reviews from what I've read thus far, (basically C+ to B) but I fucking love it! It really feels like a summer companion piece to Perfect Pussy's Say Yes to Love, which (fuck the haters) is still probably in my top three for the year. But while PP breathed life into a dead genre and made it sound ferocious and really feels like a just as powerful modern millennial take on hardcore and riot grrl, FD is successfully channeling Hart & Mould, early Flaming Lips, and the colorful acid-pop ![]() Some metal... kinda. Shoegaze metal. Better than the Alcest record. ![]() And everyone knows this classic brilliant game changin' son of a bitch! ![]() |
stakes is motherfucking high. shit ass Rolling Stone gave it 2/5 stars, saying it was lifeless. I guess they wanted Party Jamz

The album also really needs several listens to get into. My favorite record from her remains Epic followed by this one and Tramp. |

Nah, everyone who's anyone knows it's THE De La Soul album. It came at the perfect time, and it had the perfect vibe (not too needy, not too pushy, not too great of a creative jump for it to sound like a different... But almost.) I'm not sure why it's not getting love from the general hip hop fan base, but the "serious" fans know it's their "Midnight Mauraders." It's influence is not even a point of contention for the true advocates of hip hop as music. Not to be snarky of anything, I'm just saying we're better Human Beings than people who don't like this album. ;) |
![]() I gotta hand it to this bitch; something about this album feels fresh. It's like what hip hop needed. I hope everyone bitching about her inclusion in this year's "Freshman Class" know why the fuck they're bitching, because from all I can tell she is the real deal. |

Vladislav Delay (aka Ripatti) - "Ripatti 03"; third volume of experimental footwork releases on Delay's "Ripatti" imprint. I started with the first, and only recently realized that this was even out. But it's brilliant, and a 2014 release to boot! Good shit.
