I love my Mac. It's so nice to turn the machine on in the morning or afternoon and be surfing away in a minute. My last PC took 15 minutes or so to load everything up and be willing to work. It's definitely the most user friendly machine I have owned.

so far i've drank tea and listened to sleater-kinney's "all hands on the bad one". the fucking record, it skips at times, even though i've cleaned and reclean the thing.

i'm seriously considering ditching vinyl. fuck fetishes-- i need music that plays without constant babysitting.

although, they look and feel good.... and the large-sized photos of carrie brownstein are nothing to sneeze at. fleshy lips + androgynous body + smart brains = strange reactions.

CD's - need baby-soft care to prevent scratches, heat damage,data rot.

digital files - need constant backing up, plus updating of playback software, plus updating of playback devices as obsolescence is built into the format.

records - keep upright, in sleeve. you can play them for a hundred years.
if your ALL HANDS LP is skipping then it is either due to mishandling, or a production error. sux man.

vinyl gets melted like a cheese food product in the heat, more easily than CDs, it gets scratched easier than CD too. data rot on CD: OK, yes. however, vinyl warps. that's a 3-3 score an they are tied.

digital files can be a pain in the ass, yes, but with the proper format (e.g. raw audio from CD) they can be transcoded into eternity.

the all hands was fine before-- not sure what's wrong. maybe it needs some sanding... ha! anyway i just played the woods and it was fucking fine. whatever.... crazy-making archaic technology! still i like it.

i think i'm going to shoot myself in the head and rethink this one.
