When it comes to cocaine-rock, Toto and REO Speedwagon rule supreme. Much better than Aeorsmith, anyway.

GeneticKiss 07.13.2009 12:31 PM

The following bands are not half-bad:

Muse
Maroon 5
Electric Light Orchestra
Shinedown
Therapy?
Wax
Bush

Yr so angry Rob, but if u gave it a chance, u could be at a 4am Bowie shirtless dance party at a coffee shop opened after hours like I did the other week after a gig and then get laid.

try it.

Rob Instigator 07.13.2009 01:44 PM

I would but my g/f would kill me.
and burn all my records.

Decayed Rhapsody 07.13.2009 03:58 PM

Angry fan tells Iggy to fuck Bowie:

"You have tits! You have tits!"

Shifty Prophet 07.13.2009 06:38 PM

Fuck Springsteen. I know he's the boss, but to me he's the shitty boss that you bitch-slap after you quit your job.

And to all the Bowie haters, well, good for you, you haven't let the masses of Bowie cock-holsters sway your opinion.

Now that you've proven yourselves, let your guard down, don't expect genius shit, don't expect to have your mind blown, just listen to his music in a non-contextual way and watch out for Mick Ronson's and Eno's ballsack smacking you in the face. Yes, steer clear from the post-production tea-bagging!

Decayed Rhapsody 07.13.2009 06:48 PM

Gang Gang Dance and Animal Collective will sound really dated in 10 years, despite having their own sound. Speaking of GGD, is there anything worthwhile of theirs to listen to besides their last album? Everyone kept raving about it, and I like a lot of electronic music, but I was never gripped by it.

Grizzly Bear is pretty boring, but their latest album has its moments.

Already sounds dated to me, like Simple Minds or something.

automatic bzooty 07.13.2009 09:38 PM

Merriwether Post Pavilion sounds extremely dated already.

SuperCreep 07.13.2009 10:24 PM

I like AC, but they never sounded too "fresh" from the getgo.

Jasónico 07.13.2009 10:39 PM

''Trees Outside the Academy'' sucks

pbradley 07.13.2009 11:48 PM

I'm totally going to listen to only Mission of Burma, Wipers, and Hot Snakes this summer.

Everything else is shit.

atsonicpark 07.14.2009 05:19 AM

I think your flesh is separated from the sins it commits and that explains why you smile when you balance on your stack of regrets.

This is the most profound thing said on SYG since, uh, the last time. Kudos, asp, kudos.

sarramkrop 07.14.2009 02:27 PM

I bet that nobody on this forum has ever owned a Fountains of Wayne cd single. Maybe Rob has.

Wrong! You're looking at words written by one not-terrifically-proud ex-owner of the entirely un-legendary 'radiation vibe' single.

demonrail666 07.14.2009 02:51 PM

I still have the 'Stacey's Mom' CD single.

(insert grunt here)

atsonicpark 07.15.2009 02:00 AM

since we're discussing hot snakes, here's my opinion:

hot snakes > drive like jehu

!

joe11121 07.15.2009 12:37 PM

Title of Record by Filter is a good album

Pod by The Breeders is okay, but highly overrated.

oh WORD. except for luau by drive like jehu. that album's untouchable. but hot snakes as a whole had a better output.

Toilet & Bowels 07.15.2009 04:30 PM

the breeders best work has all been in the last 8 or 9 years (or however long it's been since title tk came out)

pbradley 07.15.2009 07:06 PM

The Beatles isn't REAL music. Only classical and jazz are real music.

floatingslowly 07.15.2009 07:53 PM

prior to forming, members of the band Thunderbolt Pagoda actually held day-jobs.

this is musically unpopular because, in the year 3145, it is widely assumed by the tone-priests that they were BORN GODS.

I was sent here to discover the truth...a truth that damns me to heresy.

excellent.

Seandi 07.15.2009 10:21 PM

The Beatles were not capable of writing real music. Badfinger, however, were modern masters

I'd agree with both of those.

Regarding Breeders: Pod is pretty good, but as a whole they kinda suck.

Glice 07.16.2009 11:27 AM

There is no real music. Only people talking shite.

pbradley 07.16.2009 12:22 PM

There is no Spoon.

automatic bzooty 07.16.2009 01:08 PM

gories >>> dirtbombs
