I bought some probably bunk 'as seen on TV' compilation lp because it had a Lee Dorsey track on it. It was only 50p though. Also bought a comp of French stuff (Francoise Hardy, Les Cyclones, Jean-Jacques Debout). Seems like it's probably middle of the road stuff but there's already been one fairly killer track by some band called The "Octopus" (their quotation marks not mine) which is probably worth the pound I paid for it.

 cover of the entire 7 SECONDS classic 1983 EP by SOCIETY'S ILLS, consisting of Thurston Moore (SONIC YOUTH, THURSTON MOORE), Dez Cadena (REDD KROSS, BLACK FLAG, DC3, TWISTED ROOTS, VIDA, THE MISFITS, OSAKA POPSTAR), Mike Watt (minutemen, fIREHOSE, IGGY & THE STOOGES) and Dave Markey (director of music videos for Sonic Youth, Black Flag, Mudhoney, Gumball, The Muffs, Shonen Knife, and many others) they copied the original sleeve artwork as well as the insert sheet!! this is ECSTATIC PEACE #306 |

Red Kites quite good.. the vocals and the "out" guitar playing is quite something.. Quite different from the other freak folk/weird psych outfits... Ethereal is a good word to describe their sound... I just hope they will release something on properly printed CDs or vinyl. You should try to catch them, based on what I have heard on the disc..
