if you like hearing overproduced slick symphonic rock, then listen to the later flip albums. if you like hearing terrible guitar riffs and stupid singing listen to the flips early albums.

the bigger the live show the more insiginificant the music.
the more "show" you have to put on the more you are covering for boring songs.
Fugazi will out rock the flips on a BAD day, with no stage lights, and no smoke and no effects.

sonic youth will out rock the flips with a one hour version of diamond sea.

shellac sounds the same live as on album BECAUSE they record LIVE, all three at once, no overdubs, no studio trickery, just quality mikes set up properly.
