Yeah... me too. It was ridiculously easy.

i'm kind of glad i did it though because if i hadn't inherited an amount of money that i will not disclose in public i would be so fucked. well in reality i would probably figure something out but it would probably suck.

Oh god yes. That was the easiest test ever.

Cantanky - You'd have to knuckle down and be a ROCKSTAR! ;)

Yeah, you'd probably end up like me, poor and living with two of the people I hate most in this world.

I got a 780 on the reading/language part and for some reason all the 'ged guidance counselors' started seizing. For fuck's sake, the test is at a 10th grade level! Anyone who fails it should be shot

i would never live with either of my parents. i would probably kill myself as much as i love them. but i remember being broke ass like two-three years ago and it was no fun.

terriblecanyons 08.09.2008 12:19 AM

Yeah, I'm kind of surprised I haven't offed myself yet.

Cantankerous 08.09.2008 12:20 AM

i was way too oblivious to the suck factor at the time.

All this college talk, taking into account that I start my final year of high school on Wednesday, scares the shit out of me.

Every once in a while I get all freaked out about the future. What the fuck! I want to major in English, but then what jobs can I get? I'm not opposed to being an English teacher. Everyday the idea sounds better and better, but I still don't know. People keep telling me oh you should do this and that, lawyer, pharmacist, prostitute. But I still never get excited about the prospect of any occupation! Writing is the vocation that definitely appeals to me the most, but I still freak out about that idea, and whether or not I'd be happy doing it!

Why the fuck was this thread revived?

i've got some advice for you.

don't buy into the hype that high school and college are preparation for "real life"

life happens from the start, it happens all the time. life doesn't begin when school ends. take it by the balls and do what you want to with it. do what makes you happy.

samuel 08.09.2008 12:40 AM

It was revived because I'm fucking excited to go to college, and I had to tell you all because I know you care. And I agree with Cantankerous. The future isn't scary. Be happy.

Amen to that.

I fucking hated that 'preparation' shit they tried to cram down our throats. It's all a big lie. The real world doesn't give a shit about anything high-school teaches you.

So true, and I still value education immensely. I must be weetalldid.

it might be different for me because i never really had to make a transition into "adult life" or "the real world" or whatever crock of shit they teach in school. i feel like i'm 30 and i'm 6 months away from being 19.

This is what I learned the last few times I freaked about college on this board. I will do what makes me happy, that is for sure. Just earlier, in the wake of the arrival of my sister's community college books, my dad tried to sell me some "you should go to community college" crap, which I promptly turned down with an "After how fucking hard I worked through this AP shit...?" look. I want out!

Oh god yes. I will be happy. The sooner the next 365 days pass the better.

I'm a little older than you, yet I feel like I'm still 15 or so. Funny how different we feel at the same age.

I'm 37, and feel like 89 right now :D Cantankty - that's one of the many reasons I like ya, you have a v v good head on your shoulders.

terriblecanyons 08.09.2008 12:51 AM

I feel like I'm in my mid 20s.
Being a teenager was boring anyway.

samuel 08.09.2008 12:56 AM

I just want to be the catcher in the rye, adult life ain't for me... wahhhh. I must protect all the innocent souls still out there.
