yeah, i thought that was a given.

i admire the dedication of the guy that paid the money, and sat through the show, just to throw piss.

the only answer I can think of is
EX-LOVER

or sarramkrop

LittlePuppetBoy 07.26.2007 02:11 PM

I saw he white stripes at Bluesfest just a couple of weeks ago. They were good, one of the few performances I have seen that I wish could have gone on forever (I had to leave it early though, in order to catch a bus).

Inhuman 07.26.2007 02:19 PM

Also boycott AIDS Wolf and Clap yr hands and say yeah. AIDS played a 60 minute set and Clap yr hands played a 40 minute set. Boycott them

Concrete Abutments 07.26.2007 02:39 PM

OK If this is real all is forgiven because the audience wasn't intentionally ripped off! But GODDAMNIT can't somebody say something at the show?

I'm pretty sure that sitting through that would make me want to end my life.

Rob Instigator 07.26.2007 03:05 PM

me too savage clone, me too, for I am not the bruce fanatic in any way, but goddamn, a band should play 90 minutes AT LEAST if they are gonna be headlining at a large concert.

atsonicpark 07.26.2007 03:06 PM

AIDS Wolf are the worst band i've heard in my fucking life. I love every band on skin graft except them... I guess skin graft just needed extra money by signing such a shitty band that fits in perfectly with those sub-"noise" scene bands like magick markers and the like who are awful. Ugh.

I love AIDS wolf. They're my friend's friends and they play in my friend's basement every time they come to ottawa, it's amazing. I don't like Magik Markers either, but I find AIDS wolf fantastic

stay that way, you're lucky.

anyhoo, dude, i live in mexico, if i get 10 good bands to play here, then i feel it's a good year for music, if two of those ten are not metal, i consider myself super lucky to attend them. if any of those shows is by someone i really want to see and have waited for years to see them and they did a two song set like they mean it, i so would love it. so what if they play too short or two long?

time is relative, if a grindcore band played for two hours, it would be exhausting; a regular grind set is like 15 minutes long and you get the full experience.

White Stripes are one of them bands (like Radiohead were mentioned in the other thread) that shouldn't be popular and in the mainstream but are. They write these simple songs that are really well written by one dude who is one of a kind who churns out cool tune after cool tune. They're just guitars and drums (obviously vocals too). That's not what the public, mainstream society are used to or have been designed to listen to. The music is stripped back, and a toddler could play what is the drums. And Jack White does whatever he wants, everytime without waivering. He's a pretty lucky guy.

If you have seating. haha.

I saw the Mars Volta earlier this year and they were fantastic, played for over 2 hours and I was tired of it by the time they finished up - I was hoping they'd finish because I had general admission tix. I saw them a few years ago at a festival during Deloused and they played a standard 45min set, and I couldn't get enough.

I saw Silverchair a few years ago at a theatre, front row seats and it was a great experience. It was like watching a film. Good live music and pure comfort - not much better than that.

Problem: The show was 70 minutes long! Every other show on this tour has been 2 hours or more! I'm out 50 bucks for this excursion and to think Jack himself exclaimed at the beginning of the show that this was their first gig in CT but they STILL cut it short. There were so many missing songs from this show it was a goddamn crime! WHY? I"ll tell you.

On my way out of the venue one of the ushers overheard my complaining and stepped in to tell me that some asshole threw a shoe at Jack and Meg at the very end (which didn't hit them BTW) and that's why they didn't come back for the final set. OK, so ONE asshole throws a shoe and you piss off 16,000 people?

If you haven't bought tickets for them on this tour but were thinking about it, think again! I thought they had a coolness about them but it's pretty obvious now that they're on a major they think their shit don't stink and they can throw a hissy fit like a 4 year old whenever they please. Good going Jack and/or Meg! Screw the people that pay your salary!

It's a goddamn good thing I only ever bought two of their discs. The other four were burns and I'm not giving them one RED dime anymore. You ROCK but FUCK YOU!

Um you rip them off by bootlegging them and they cut a show short due to safety reasons?

Boycott you more like

Concrete Abutments 07.26.2007 09:43 PM

Safety? How do you mean safety? The goons in that place were probably ready to eject that idiot they were so hardcore. And I know this thread is getting too long to read the whole thing, but I DID post a link to Rolling Stone where they reported that Jack and Meg cut out early because he backed into a microphone stand and was injured. That is allegedly the real story but NOBODY said anything at the damn show.

OH and I buy more music than you could probably ever DREAM of! I can't even fit it into the house anymore I have so much of it. So a few White Stripes burns 'til I figure out whether I need to own them or not doesn't bother me and shouldn't bother them either. I ALWAYS buy whatever is worth owning.

drrrtyboots 07.26.2007 10:36 PM

Yeah man, those microphone stands. Sneak right up on ya!!

SynthethicalY 07.26.2007 10:45 PM

I wouldn't go see them, I like some songs buit not all.

Sounds like you're a spoiled brat with rich parents who is just whining because you didn't get your way when your favorite shitty rock group played a few minutes less than you wanted them to.
