That might've been the Ghostwatch episode Mr Singsdoom was referring to. Did it have Sarah Green in it?

Was that (Ghostwatch) the one-off BBC1 special? a kind of fake documentary.

I remember little about it though it had a few genuinely scary moments (one moment which played on my fear of seeing a face in the mirror), and it was banned from being repeated because some viewers needed treatment for stress after seeing it. Hard to believe now.

sometimes i get more scared by disturbing movies that get in your head, as oppose to movies that are actually trying to frighten. take 'inland empire' for example, during that 2 hr sequence after laura dern gets trapped behind the set door, i was deeply scared, well, more freaked out than anything.

This movie was one of the rare cases where I saw a picture on its opening night. A friend who was far too enthused to see it dragged me to the theater.

Despite the hype, I knew going in that it was, of course, all staged to look like "real" videocam footage. Can't imagine that some thought it depicted actual events.

The flick was exceedingly tedious and boring, and yeah, it's apparent to me (even having never seen too much of them) that the sequels are ridiculously awful.

I think most of the complaints would've been about Sarah Green's awful 80s haircut. It was quite scary in other ways too though.
