It would've been good to be my age in the mid to late 70s in Brisbane or Sydney in Australia.
Same for the early 80s in Dunedin in New Zealand.
But these thoughts are just based on music around at that that time and place. I have no idea what it would really be like and if it would be any better.

Yeah, I know all about Stu. He was indispensable to the sound.

The other keyboard players though were, well, key to the sound. Nicky Hopkins, especially on country-tinged stuff. Ian McLaglan, especially on Some Girls. And Jack Nitzche in the mid-1960s. And Brian of course--he did the more bizarre little keyboard touches.

Oh, yeah, and Billy Preston. We can't forget Preston.

Increasingly, i feel like i have always belonged in the countryside during the interwar period, with some form of carthorse.

On a similar era-note, has anyone seen that film about Dylan Thomas? If its accurate then Christ wasnt he ever the biggest prick?

I would love to have experienced the wild west. yeh.

acousticrock87 07.19.2008 02:48 PM

I think if I had been around in the wild west, I would be long dead.

demonrail666 07.19.2008 02:52 PM

Yeah, after watching Back to the Future III, I doubt I'd have done too well either. Especially seeing as how i can't even moonwalk!

EMMAh 07.20.2008 06:05 PM

Yeah, I feel like that all the time.

There are so many time periods that I like, I'm not even sure which I'd really like to live in though.

Mid Ninteenth Century
Sadly, I care more about Civil War Politics than those of my own time.

There's no way I'd wanna go too far back before stuff like toilet paper, anti-biotics, and basic enlightenment were invented.

I mean, I could go back to the middle ages and with my 21st century know-how, I could take over the world - but what's the point if I would be dead at 30 because of smallpox or whatever?

It would have been nice to have been born 10-15 years earlier so I could've experienced the decadent 70s - but even that wouldn't be worth the price 'cause then I would be classified as a -ugh! - "Baby Boomer".

Cantankerous 07.23.2008 06:15 PM

i decided i should've been born in 1950 or so
and then i could have gone to altamont

because i watched it and i want to go
and not get beat by the hells angels

Crumb's Crunchy Delights 07.23.2008 06:18 PM
