As everyone else has said, excellent debut album, and pretty much nothing worth listening to afterwards. Maybe this thread could have been titled the: ''Interpol's first album appreciation thread''. And yes, they are Television playing Joy Division covers.

is that roisin murphy in your signature? amazing lady..and foxy to boot. |
Quote:
yep, it's Roisin. I like her voice, and she's awesome. by the way, I missed her concert at Open'er in Poland, but she will be back in Poland in November, so maybe if will have enough money. She is amazing live, very energic, vivic, and sexy. |

yes, it is a good album. they are good band, but Turn on the Bright Lights is the fiercest of their material, and Antics is a terrible record. stick with the one you've heard and Our Love to Admire which maintains roughly 68% of the edge of the first one, but has 215% the edge of Antics. |
Quote:
from our love to admire, I've found 4 songs that don't bores me like the others on that album, and they are: 1. pioneer to falls 2. the scale 3. rest my chemistry 4. lighthouse |
interpol?
appreciation? mmm lemme think they suck bags of donkey dicks posers boring cure wannabe |
Quote:
I think that adds up to near my approximation of 68% doesn't it? |
Quote:
yep, that's right! |

there are so many 'artist' who are someone wannabees, so that's worthless. but when i find in that waanabees something real, i like it, and i don't care about it. |
^^^oh yeah of course
that's my opinion. no problem. There's music for everybody. |
the first interpol album still gets played on my turntable. great songs. too bad they ahd nothing else.
the antics album is boring and the new one is just shit on a platter,. that first one though.... they say people in bands spend their first 22 years writing that first album, and a half a year for each of the next! ha ha! in interpol's case it is true! |
Quote:
I mean that i can find in your favourite artists, someones wannabe. I don't know why I'm defending Interpol, I do not like them so much, though. |

what about evil from antics ? |
it makes me sleep a little less quickly than the rest of antics.
saw them live on last tour, holy FUCK were they wasting everyone's time, and they loooked it too. |
Quote:
they were in poland this year, I haven't group to go at festival. but from that what I've read they had middle gig. so maybe you're particly right. I've seen some videos on youtube, and debut albums works good live. |
i never replied to this thread? really? well in that case...
SHIT band, SHIT songs, SHIT attitude; they represent what's wrong with rock, rock writers and the united states of america today. the only show i've ever gotten out early to avoid a band was a festival last year interpuke were headlining. however, i do like "leif erikson", thanks to bytor peltor who included it on a mixtape and, otherwise, i would have never heard that song. |

I like Stella but I always felt they were a more pop/commercial cheaper version of Joy Division. |
Best rock band working today. Hands down. Most complex. melodic and ORIGINAL sounding band in years.
from the first comment shown on youtube in a vid of their latest single. |
I really enjoyed the last one and the first one, but the middle antics was indeed a terrible imitation of an interpol record. nothing has the teeth that Turn on the Bright Lights, my god that is a fantastically emotional record.
|
terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible.
At the time this thread started i thought otherwise, but theyve had 4 years and failed to convince me otherwise |
