Toilet & Bowels 08.12.2009 08:19 AM

like i said, i will if i can find the mp3s, but i won't have time to look for them before the weekend

TheFoxBen 08.25.2010 08:31 AM

So... What about those Acid Ranch MP3's ? I've got an album on my computer if you guys want !

noisereductions 08.25.2010 08:45 AM

I thougth of another really rare one I have: Smegma & Antler's THE TROPIC OF NIPPLES.

TheFoxBen 08.25.2010 08:48 AM

Oh yeah, I see what it is but I have never heard it, how is it ?

noisereductions 08.25.2010 08:53 AM

it's awful.

TheFoxBen 08.25.2010 08:57 AM

Haha, well sometimes it's just hit or miss with Mr. Pollard, especially his solo stuff.

noisereductions 08.25.2010 09:00 AM

the problem with that one is that it's like stupid beat-poetry bullshit with Richard Meltzer. It's really aimless and pretentious and lousy.

SUPERMAN WAS A ROCKER is great BTW. He took instrumentals recorded with GBV (!!!!!) that were never done and added vocals. So it's basically a lost GBV album. I like it a lot.

TheFoxBen 08.25.2010 09:16 AM

Oh, awesome ! I'll give it a try one of these days !

PAULYBEE2656 08.25.2010 10:40 AM

Woah dude ! I watched their video of "Over the Neptune/Mesh Gear Fox" on youtube the other day :D They're pretty good !

noisereductions 08.25.2010 11:04 AM

I dont think I "get" cover bands.

batreleaser 08.25.2010 03:46 PM

I didn't even understand the greatness of GBV until I was 20 or so. It clicked one night when I put on "Alien Lanes". Been one of my favorite bands ever since.

noisereductions 08.25.2010 03:59 PM

Alien Lanes is incredible.

TheFoxBen 08.25.2010 04:49 PM

5. Under the Bushes Under the Stars
6. Same Place the Fly Got Smashed
7. Mag Earwhig!
8. Half Smiles of the Decomposed
9. Do the Collapse
10. Devil Between My Toes
11. Earthquake Glue
12. Universal Truths & Cycles
13. Vampire on Titus
14. Self-Inflicted Aeriel Nostalgia
15. Isolation Drills

EPs:

7. I Am a Scientist
8. Plantations of Pale Pink
9. Clown Prince of the Menthol Trailer

I probably forgot some though.

GBV are pretty much perfect in their own way. Robert Pollard is an absolute genius.

Favorite LP from them: Under The Bushes Under The Stars
Favorite EP from them: Sunfish Holy Breakfast

Can't wait to see them in October for Matador at 21.

I hope you realize how lucky you are :( I really hope they'll do a European tour after the American one...

jon boy 08.25.2010 08:50 PM

Oh, totally. I wouldn't miss it for the world (I hope I didn't just jinx it and I get sick the day of the concerts).

I'm sure they'll do a big tour for this thing... Hopefully you'll get your chance to see 'em live.

I really, really like Devil Between My Toes. I'm surprised it's not a favorite around here. I wish I were more familiar with a larger percentage of their discography.
