Haha, well sometimes it's just hit or miss with Mr. Pollard, especially his solo stuff.

the problem with that one is that it's like stupid beat-poetry bullshit with Richard Meltzer. It's really aimless and pretentious and lousy.

SUPERMAN WAS A ROCKER is great BTW. He took instrumentals recorded with GBV (!!!!!) that were never done and added vocals. So it's basically a lost GBV album. I like it a lot.

I dont think I "get" cover bands.

I didn't even understand the greatness of GBV until I was 20 or so. It clicked one night when I put on "Alien Lanes". Been one of my favorite bands ever since.

Alien Lanes is incredible.

I hope you realize how lucky you are :( I really hope they'll do a European tour after the American one...

i never liked gbv and its not as though i havnt listened to them or seen them live. they just seem a bit, well bland for my ears.

Oh, totally. I wouldn't miss it for the world (I hope I didn't just jinx it and I get sick the day of the concerts).

I'm sure they'll do a big tour for this thing... Hopefully you'll get your chance to see 'em live.

I really, really like Devil Between My Toes. I'm surprised it's not a favorite around here. I wish I were more familiar with a larger percentage of their discography.
