No the strike was always scheduled to end tomorrow so this is just the two being co-ordinated. They're giving us a return date of 1st May but that's obviously meaningless. |

Glad things are relatively OK for you. I'm in pretty much the same boat. Safe for now but long term? Who knows? Stay safe |

time to start making preparations for what will be an inevitable recession (we’re there already?), probable depression if governments don’t get their shit together. Quote:

i’m sticking to ebooks for the time being, except for the stuff i checked out of the library and get to hoard after they closed doors. my thinking is the economy comes out at the other side of this looking very different from today. eta: trying to be systematic about this ![]() |

I work at a martial arts and fitness equipment manufacturer/distributor. It's insane the amount of increased sales we have had over the past few days. It feels really odd in comparison to all the misery developing around me too... Odd times for sure. |
Sorry Peterpuff, i started a rumor that exercising prevents infection. I just want a fit society!

According to my Maths teacher, the rumour is that Thursday (tomorrow) is going to be the last day before it gets canned. Fingers crossed, I've got a test on Friday I don't really wanna do. |

I've never been to a gym in my whole damn life. Never had any gym paraphernalia at home either. Got out of PE in high school (suckers!). Still slim as ever. Good metabolism and not that much food, I guess. Lotsa Coke, though. Hey, is anybody else having dismal internet speed? I bet you do - it's because everybody's holed up at home using the AlGoreWebs! People, get out to the yard or the sidewalk for a bit, kick a football around and pretend you can bend it like Parminder Nagra or someone. It ain't gonna kill ya (I don't think)! |

I experienced shotty streaming at home today, especially with YouTube. However, my wife & daughter were watching Netflix with no issues when I left for work. I plan to do a new scan of our digital antenna and also hang it in a new spot. It’s perfect on clear days, but if it’s cloudy and windy, a few of the local signals from Beaumont (ABC & NBC) aren’t recognized. However, I can usually pick up the same affiliates in Lake Charles (about an hour away). Today my daughters school district suspended classes through Friday, April 3rd. We’ve reduced the hours at our flower shop (9-3) and my wife has made sure the funeral homes have our numbers. Our County hasn’t mandated that bars & restaurants close as we still have zero confirmed cases. My job is steam rolling at my regular 40 hours per week. Courts closed last week, but the courthouse and other county offices are still open. If our commissioners and county judge decided to close normal county operations, I’m fortunate to be one who will receive pay at an accelerated emergency/disastrous rate for the duration of he closure......and possibly overtime if we move to 12 hour shifts, but I don’t anticipate that. Tomorrow makes a week since this avalanche of closings and cancellations started, anxious to see what the next week brings. At home, we will be working on yard projects. Redoing our flowerbeds, pruning limbs & branches and burning yard waste. Lots of grilling and cooking at home, but we will also patronize local restaurants offering curbside pickup as we want to help spread the $$ long as they stay open. |

As an aside, I gotta say her new single is great. Eesh, feel dirty saying that. |
I'm reading an e-mail from my country's equivalent of an HMO:
"Self-care measures: [...] - Extremely avoid greeting others with handshakes, hugs or kisses" It took ages and a zombie apocalypse, but finally the world realizes I've been right all along. ![]() |

Here's a graph of the amount of infected people per city in my province Brabant. Eindhoven where I live is still relatively OK even though it's a large city. Breda and Tilburg are quite bad. You can click on a line to filter, but it's a bit tricky to select some due to overlaps.
Still no TP at the supermarket if anyone can give (a link to) an explanation for the 3 shells option, I'm willing to give it a try ;-) Something that I should have done ages ago, but now really handy: I bought a tiny freezer (30liter) so I can freeze bread and meat. And icecream! |
I’m catching up on a bunch of reading, Nation and Harpers mags, then maybe onto the monster stacks of books I’ve amassed thru Xmas, birthdays, book sales, etc...got a great comfy chair out in the back 40, in the sun, birds serenading me.
My question, anyone (US) have plans for their Mitt bux? |

Running out of fresh veg already. But we have tree collards outside, had some for dinner last night with homemade green sauce, scrummy! Our local party is getting some folks to do shopping runs for others...not sure if I’ll do that yet, but sure not ready to do store runs again in a hurry. Cat fud supply is EXCELLENT!

Who all (US) has plans for their Mitt bucks? You can look on it as a way to spend your taxes yourself, rather than funding Israel or golf outings!

|
actually, best thing to do is likely take that money, wait until VISA stock bottoms out (any day now. It has dropped from 220/share to 141/share in like a week.), and buy as much VISA stock as you can. You wil probably double your investment by the winter....

Well... things are going disastrous in my country with this fucking virus, I hope you and your loved ones are OK, greetings from the sad/sunny Spain.
