The Misfits kicked ass, once upon a time. One of the more creative bands to come out of that late 70's/early 80's scene. Static Age is brilliant.

Theatrics and rock go well together. Calling it "gay" is about the silliest thing ever.

Misfits rule. Insane gross guitar tones, mean ass disgusting vocals that still actually had memorable and strangely beautiful melodies, classic songs, tons of energy, creepy atmosphere, sloppy as fuck and unhinged, awesome band.

But I'm not mr. punk-o punkenstein. For example, I don't really like Black Flag aside from a song here or there (too much shitty Greg Ginn "Free jazz" solos for my tastes) so yeah.
