take advantage of it. When yr pregnant you don't have to do anything. People are just waiting for you to need help. Picking out baby stuff is the best. especially with yr 1st. I picked out the John lennon Imagine nursery set for Gavin. Then we painted animals on the walls. And the tiny little clothes. So much fun. Make sure someone gives you a wedding shower and baby shower youll be hooked up with diapers for the 1st 3 months.

I do not admit this to ANTONE it is embarassing but i smoked during my pregnancys. I cut down from 2 packs a day to around 4 a day. I felt so guilty addiction sucks. I did also quit pot and pills no drinking. My son was born 9lbs and 6oz I am 5'3"He was a gigantic baby. In fact so large I had to have a c section and they had to pound my rib cage to get him out. My daughter was 8lbs 7 oz another c section. If it does cause low birth weight I guess that was a good side affect in my circumstance. Not a single thing wrong with them. They are very healthy don't have asthma or allergy issues. I have never had to take them to the doctor very much in the past.

If you can quit do it. I am a horrible example when it comes to that and I am ashamed of it. I was praying to get morning sickness hoping it would push me to want to stop more but all I got was heart burn.

Pot is perfectly harmless to the baby. Studies show that the only differences in kids whos mothers smoked the herb while pregnant and those who did not was that the pot kids seemed to be more creative. The HRS will try to take yr kid in a fucking heart beat though if they find THC in yr placenta or if they do a drug test on your urine (which procedure down here). I have a friend who was required to go through a rehab of sorts when her placentas popped positive. If she did not do it they would take her child. THey came to the hospital room the next day after the delivery questioning her like she was on trial and she was already emotional she had her first child. THree months of random drug tests and aa meetings and 2 days a week of the rehab class.
So I would say be very careful. The department of children and families love to take kids out of good homes based on thier bullshit thinking only to put them in a foster home where they are abused or loose them. At least that is how FL works. Not trying to scare you just trying to save you from uneeded bullshit.;)

i made my mother quit smoking: she stopped when she found out she was pregnant and after about aight months without cigarettes she hated the taste and never smoked again.

so i got back from the drs a little ago and promptly sat my ass back down in front of the television/laptop,
further along than i thought...dr said about 7 weeks, ETA late january

Seriously though, when can you tell the gender? I want to take the opportunity to lecture you about quitting smoking now, but I think it's been said. I think it's about WAY MORE than just "low birth weight". Besides, once you got that little dude/dud'ette in your hands, you'll value the baby smell more than anything... the smoke smell ruins it, really. Sounds extreme but my sister-in-law and brother quit after their baby was born for that reason.... it's as good excuse as any, and if you're gonna quit, might as well give your body and the baby the 1-up WHILE you're preggers.

My mom smoked while pregnant with me and my brothers.... she cut back but smoked. We all had issues that could be associated with the smoking. Don't be like me mum ;)
