I can't believe how interesting they managed to sound with only two instruments and a rather limited general sound (garage rock), or how heavy they were.

Ps: I put two mix on soundclouds. you might enjoy the second one better

I'll have a ball with them later on, fanx. Still massively hungover after last night so I need to lie down and put some music on when I get home.

Whenever I put on "Bad Moon Rising" people lift their cheap American beer into the air and shout "I love CCR, man!" They give each other high-fives, and then sing along with John Fogerty.

EVOLghost 06.12.2012 09:22 AM

must spread rep.

That'd be more my kind of party. I try hard not to giggle at the thought of Sevarian's face being irrigated by tears and profound sense of self-doubt when he finds out that generally at parties people want to dance, not play fucking Sonic Youth.

I have never been to a "house party" (meaning, excluding raves or other organized events) that involved dancing. Is this the norm now? Am I old?

We used to actually make a point of having theme parties, even in high school, and most often they were costume parties. I was Xiu Xiu once, and that face paint didn't come off for five days.

Genteel Death 06.12.2012 01:31 PM

I'll dance to anything, if I'm in the mood. Even The White Stripes.

Eeew!! Please don't use that word!! It grosses me out.

I believe that word should only be used as a suffix, with a "-" before it, and only when describing a person's interests and hobbies. In a romantic context it just sounds creepy. :p

I live a few blocks from a high school.

They're having a football game or some shit.

Anyway, the marching band's playing "Seven Nation Army."

60 or so not-very-talented tweens and teens blasting the riff are currently coming through my window.

Hilarious. Awful. Yet kinda catchy.

That is hideously depressing.

U of M pulls the same shit during football games.

The Black Keys didn't even become a remotely listenable band until Attack and Release. Brothers is ok, El Camino is better but in actuality, they're milking this whole "bad news girlfriend" theme..

Haha, how things have changed in Baltimore!

I've wondered what Jack White thinks of this tune becoming essentially THEE sports chant. The Baltimore Ravens fans chanted in unison, 70,000 chorus last year. The Miami Heat fans are notoriously obnoxious with it at home at the American Airlines Arena. Really though, I wonder if Jack is either flattered or pissed off. Kurt Cobain was practically mortified when he found out jocks loved Smells Like Teen Spirit.

chocolate_ladyland 07.04.2013 12:49 AM

first four albums unequivocally rock

"Mighty and Superior" by Conflict

Listen to the first few seconds. Remind you of a certain WS riff?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3NSA1_bq1c

This should go in "Songs That Remind You of Other Songs" thread. I'll do that now.
