Is anyone still interested in doing anything?
|

I don't even know what it is, but I will do something with it tonight! |
Yeah, I need a better recording device
|
I did some editing of it in audacity (I tried to noise gate it, but it ended up just making these cool high pitched noises, so I did the heavier noise gate to one side, reversed it, delayed it, then re-reversed it so you have a pre delay sort of thing, and I added a very wet huge room reverb to the lesser gated stuff on the other side) , then I flipped the current tape in my 4 track over (making it reverse) and I took the drum track and used it for a weird reverse sort of semi rhythmic thing, then looped it. Doesn't really have a solid rhythm, because you can't really play a long with stuff in audacity but I think it works.

Bump!What's happening with this thread?

Bump! You just need to have more than one program running.
|
noooo, you can play a track on audacity and record a separate track with it at the same time (in the same window), it's really useful coz the tracks result already "synched" (sp?) and it becomes easier to do a decent mix.
|
Depends. There are different way to do that and still come up with good results.
|
I hooked up my phase shifter and my distorion pedal and did this little number.

I'm highly disappointed about this thread dying out so quickly. You lot just want to post about yourselves and your silly massive egos.

expired :( i need a phaser too |
Another CHOUT track that i've reshaped into what sounds like Stereolab doing the Velvets.

Awesome remix, porky. I said that in another thread though.
So what's next? Should we start another thread or threads focusing on one specific collaboration piece? static-harmony, can you reupload your file and we can start there? |

Yeah, but the other tracks that you listen to while recording are offset by a few seconds. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/help...cording&i=sync |
Ooooh, nevermind, I have the old version, the new version fixes that with the latency parameters! Yay!
|
OK Kegmama, will do!
Here is this little chord progression I've been working on for a song that is eventually going to be called Binary Junkie. But I'll let you guys play with it first. Hondo LP Custom -> Dano French Toast (octave off mode) -> Fender HRD -> SM 58 -> Audacity The file will be up in a second. It would be nice if someone could add some phased or chorused clean guitar arpeggios to the one part. And here it is: http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.ph...7093174F1AD00C |

Why doesn't this forum have a roll eyes smiley face?
You mean, besides that? Because that is all I'm using on that. I've also got a tascam 424 which is nice for ideas, and for its portability so I can record in rooms with nice ambience.(I have a PC) I have a few mics that I've borrowed from friends- sm-58, sm-57 (currently at Destroyer!'s practice space, hence the 58 on the last track), and some AKG condensers. Outboard I have a Yamaha (also on loan), a sansui reverberation amp, and a 31 band Stereo EQ. I realize it isn't the most hi-fi solution, but I like to limit myself and I tend to focus monetary funds on making live performances better. |
I'magonna work on your geetar part when I get home, SpectralJulianIsNotDead. I brought my poly chorus with me, so I'll either use flange or chorus on my part, clean otherwise. Maybe I'll just layer what you already have.
|
Sounds cool. I keep fiddling with these chords and wishing I had a two guitar band because the chords seem to really want another guitar in there.

fuck yeah. cant wait to hear the french toast |
I channeled Pete Buck with my part. I just basically figured out the parts and sequences and laid down a polar opposite take on the main part. Let me know how you like this mix, SpectralJulianIsNotDead. My guitar sounds louder than I expected, and I can redo it if you have any suggestions.

Sounds good to me Chout through my speakers.
Just needs some bass, drums, and vox now. |
I copied your guitar part and hard panned the two gtr tracks along with mine. I even added flange to the click track, but it may not be that noticible.
|
I could tell something was done with the click track. It sounds good.

do like what I did and record your voice. read something or write something.
|
If you don't want to sing it Buzzo, my friend will. Definitely gotta contribute lyrics Kegmama!
|
hey its me.
i have a basic idea down for fresh beatz (the one with only bass and drums) i cant be bothered to add to the track CHOUT and Spectral did, its perfect and very jesus and the mary chain sounding so i dont know what else to add |

Someone added guitar and vox to that one, but if you want to add guitar and do something different that would be sweet. Afterwords you should listen to what they did. |
So my buddy has been slacking a little with finishing the vocals, I will whip him into shape to finish it - he was gonna do some harmonies. Sounds a bit GBV ish.
|
Here's the Chout/SpectralJulian/Kegmama/Jason (he's not a board member, but a big SY fan) collab so far:
