Considering most people would go for Ronaldo for obvious reasons (and he doesn't even complain or dive or talk the referees into booking the oponent), I picked Nani, who did... nothing.

okay so he gets 2 points for 90 minutes, 1 point for clean sheets, and 4 points for 9 recovered balls? or is it 2 for clean sheets & 3 for every 3 balls? and what is "recovered balls" exactly? recovered from where?

when i started playing this game i couldn't figure how defenders could score higher than strikers but it's been the case most of the time... only thing is, i still don't understand how haaa haaa

i was lucky to have khedira in, seemed to be in every play, and cheaper than schweinsteiger, who had a so-so game. i traded "down" so to speak so i could afford good strikers, but he delivered.

and i used to have lahm in my defense, but again, the money, oh, 8 points from him today, yea? cuz hummels got 2 (sorry bertrand!) and i'd add the... do defenders get 6 pts per goal? anyway still i can't believe they got 2 goals against them. fucking horrid. but i guess they gambled on offense. jogi was heard demanding more goals.

This round is not going well, I think I have barely even 15 points.
I picked Nani as captain too (couldn't afford Ronaldette) and he didn't deliver. Then I changed to Gomez and he didn't bring the points either... would've picked someone else if I'd seen he wasn't starting. Maybe Khedira (8 points), but with my luck I'd probably have given it to Neuer instead and still would've ended up wasting the points. Anyway, I'll have to pick another one for tonight. Fabregas might be the most likely, but I don't have time to wait for the team line-ups and a quick look around seems to suggest Torres is playing instead. Aaargh, Casillas then?

I managed to do well by putting Alba as captain and only having three Italian players in total. I'd gambled on a 0-0 draw so my leaping to the top place was basically luck, but I'll take it.

an introvert party turned unannounced into a minor bacchanalia. nobody was killed but several livers were harmed. i was half-puking during the game, but somehow drinking a lot of tea made me feel better.

If you can, you should really try the premiership one this season. It's a more long term commitment but obviously, because of that, you have more time to have a solid campaign. Your Euro campaign was obviously compromised from the first matchweek and there was never time to correct that, which obviously wouldn't be the case during a full season. It's a lot of fun. Paulybee usually organises a league for here.

i don't really know the premiere league, but i'm going to be watching more of it this coming season. actually the champions league would make a nice fantasy league as well no? maybe they'll have that in the UEFA website?

The CL would be great but its matches are too stretched out to really make it possible and, given the fact that the Prem is now choc full of a lot of the European players we saw this month, you'll probably find it easier picking your team than you think. And while it may not have the best football, the Prem really is a lot more fun to follow than any other league I've seen. AND WE ONLY HAVE TO WAIT ANOTHER MONTH!!!!

As for the Premiere League, I find it easier in a way. Not that you can easily leapfrog everyone, but your players aren't sent back home. The Euro and World Cup has you dumping some players you believed in in favour of players you chose not to select, on a one month competition. The PL alloxs you to stick with your choices until proven good.

I'm still hoping to find someone who would accept to start a team where every player is a Jones or a Taylor.
