Every boardie in the forum, the tall and the small,
Was singing! Without any presents at all!
Jon boy HADN'T stopped Christmas from coming!
IT CAME!
Somehow or other, it came just the same!
And jon boy, with his feet ice-cold in the snow,
Stood puzzling and puzzling: "How could it be so?
It came without ribbons! It came without tags!
"It came without packages, boxes or bags!"
And he puzzled three hours, `till his puzzler was sore.
Then jon boy thought of something he hadn't before!
"Maybe Christmas," he thought, "doesn't come from a store.
"Maybe Christmas...perhaps...means a little bit more!"
And what happened then...?
Well...in the SY forum they say
That jon boy's small heart
Grew three sizes that day!
And the minute his heart didn't feel quite so tight,
He whizzed with his load through the bright morning light
And he brought back the toys! And the food for the feast!
And he...
...HE HIMSELF...!
Jon boy carved the roast beast!

get out of the house more man.

its one day in the year but seems to last for months if you know what i mean.

anyway i have my own reasons for not liking christmas mainly due to family. i think there is far too much emphasis on enjoying something even if you dont really enjoy it. i am not trying to stop christmas but mine have never really been filled with much peace to all men etc. comprende?

If nothing else, Christmas inspired the greatest children's book ever (can you guesss what it is?)

I like christmas. Be different (and silver-tongued) by defending weihgt training, golden necklets, shirts, that allow a view at your chest hair or the brilliancy of SNAP! within left-liberal bohemian milieu, but not by disliking the "commerzialisation" of what christmas has become today. JESUS!

Christmas isn't even mentioned in that, silly.

they were inspecting the holly, then eachother.

Jon boy, I hope you don't find the Christmas period too difficult.

On the positive side, there's only a few days left, and life returns to normal pretty quickly afterwards.

jon boy 12.23.2006 11:31 AM

yeah well the sooner its over the better to be honest. i find people that like christmas too much are generally hiding something or really actually hate it.

...or have children.

Between childhood and about three years ago, I could take or leave Christmas. It's only because of my children that I've grown to love it again.

And it's their enjoyment of it that I enjoy, not actually Christmas itself.

jon boy 12.23.2006 11:36 AM

so why all the posts?

i actually like what christmas has become...as far as the religious things it stands for, i could really care less, im not religious...but i lvoe gifts, puttin up a tree, spending time with family i havent seen in awhile, seeing my little relatives who are kids and still believe in santa...

is there anything you people do like? this board may be the biggest collection of whiners and bitches ever assembled. jesus, if you dont like your family, id say you are taking your youthful wannabe rebel schtick a little too far. you are supposed to not like your family when you are young, then as you get older and mature, you see your family are the ones who will always be there for ya

merry christmas to all who enjoy it still...the rest of ya can go play your SY records and be miserable....as usual
