diplo is from where i live, which i always have thought is cool. not much else has never come out of daytona. i prefer to think that nascar doesn't exist.

the classic rock station here says we have the world's most famous beach, but i quite doubt that. world's most std-ridden beach, maybe.

one day i went on a tour of the racetrack with my parents, when they worked for the visitor's bureau, and i just find it amazing how big of a deal fast cars are to people. there's a whole "daytona 500 experience!" museum with an imax documentary about the race and how the cars work. it's quite a bore.

I lived 45 minutes from Bristol so I'm all too familiar with that too. Basically everything within 50 miles shut down the week before races and the freeways were packed.

this year, the mall opened at noon and closed at 12:30 because of the race. they kicked me out at 12:20 saying there's no reason to shop on such an eventful day.

daytona just has the weirdest culture. it's so whitewashed and empty but deep, deep down some cool things bubble under the surface.

i've thought about doing that to all of the city of edgewater a few times. it'd be so kickass.

i still can sense the smell of tobacco, and i showered this morning, i swear.

i've showered thrice today and i still smell of curacao.

i always wanted to try curacao.

to add to the mystery, the smell is not coming from the clothes i wore last night.

The smell stays in my hair for at least a day, even with shower(s)
