i used to looooove pearl jam, but i wouldnt touch that album with a ten foot pole. i would like to see the movie though. the story kind of reminds me of grizzly man. guy goes into nature, guy forgets that to protect nature one must let nature be nature, guy gets fuck up the pedunk a dunk
put i cant judge for i have yet to see the film....

Yeah, a buddy of mine said the movie was really good.

I don't know, the album surely isn't going to blow anybody by any means, but it just has that great "sad Eddie" kind of vibe to it that I have always loved. I've had it in my car for awhile now.

I've only seen the film, but I think Kaki King is on guitar and it does not sound like Pearl Jam at all.

krastian 03.18.2008 04:34 PM

Right, it's an acoustic album.

Sonic Youth 37 03.18.2008 04:38 PM

Very funny movie written by, starring, and directed by Julie Delpy.

yeah i know, it just sounds like eddie vedders generic folk stuff that i cant stand.
i miss the times that he liked sonic youth black flag and fugazi instead of jack johnson and ben harper

I turned it off after 45 minutes. I have a very low threshhold for teenage pompousity and pretentiousness

horrible fucking movie. horible people. what a waste of life is what I thought, until I turned it off and breathed a sigh of relief.

Um, not really, aside from the dialogue, possibly. It's more about how culture clash in reference to relationships and such. Plus, it's about half in French. It's more about the comedy and their relationship than the whole "romance" thing.

ALIEN ANAL 03.18.2008 08:05 PM

does it feel more scripted than the other movie we are talking about

Sonic Youth 37 03.18.2008 08:07 PM

Well, no actually. Julie wrote it and she co-wrote Before Sunset (but not Before Sunrise). It still has the long shots and back and forth between Adam and Julie. Their chemistry is good, different from her's and Ethan's though. It comes off very natural and free-flowing.

ALIEN ANAL 03.18.2008 08:17 PM

does she feel like the same character?

Sonic Youth 37 03.18.2008 08:18 PM

No. There's a hint of the political nature. In this one she's much more neurotic (I guess you could call it that) and much less passive.

"Battlestar Galactica" season 3 came out on DVD today. I'm renting it and started watching it, its pretty good so far. I never saw it when it first aired so I'm catching up to get ready for season 4.

Be Kind, Rewind

I liked it, but it probably won't stick with me long. Saw it at the Arclight though, which meant an Amoeba trip right before.
